    Default EBID version 3

I'm very pleased to know we have an upgrade coming in early feb- as announced by Gazza on the following thread:
    http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread....870#post309870

I'm a little apprehensive about a site built around the colour red though . All the tips I've read on building corporate sites recommend using blues for your colour schemes as research shows people 'trust' the colour blue more. EBIDs current colorscheme- dark blue font on a lighter blue background - presents just the right corporare image, appears to comply with the UKs Disability Discrimination Act legislation and the Web Accepibility Initiative and is easy to read

Red can be rather an aggressive colour, and is not as easy to read. I always avoid it as I'm unsure how it would appear to a colourblind user. The following site is useful for checkinghttp://colorlab.wickline.org/colorblind/colorlab/

Any chance of a preview of EBID 3?

    Why red?

It sounds like it's going to make my eyes bleed.

I am really excited about the new version 3 coming out next month. I appreciate that eBid wants to make changes and push forward but I pray they keep the present fee structure ---- I love not having to pay just to list.

Another thing I am wondering is if they will offer a special promotion on the US Site to sign up free or for a small fee for the gold membership. I am tying to introduce some sellers to eBid and I think the special promotion right after the eBid version 3 has been launched would be a good thing.

God Bless those spending the long hours trying to get this update in place.

Red is a bad idea as many dislexic people can struggle to read with the colour red infront of their eyes - so maybe a little mor thought on the subject???

Perhaps we should wait to see how it turns out before we turn our noses up at the idea?

Damian, it wouldn't matter how long I waited to see how it turns out.. I'm not colourblind, partially sighted or dyslexic. Such considerations need to be raised before people are put off ebid.

I have two ebid stores. This is for Cats Protection;Lots of beanies, fast food toys, random collectables, some new children's clothes - almost anything really.
this is business and sells skeleton leaves, Thai silk, various vintage postcards, more random collectables
    Both sell discontinued china tableware.

Im not turning my nose up at the idea damain_steele - im all for Ebid being improved, i just think that some though should be put into problems that can be caused by little things like the colour, it could prevent new members from joining thats all...

There are millions of possible combinations that cold be covered under the heading of "a red theme", yet some people here seem to think that they know exactly what all of them would look like and are not even prepared to take a look before they decide they don't like the idea.

What I suggest is that folks at least give it a try before they write off the idea, that's all. No need for some to get moody about it.
