Thread: Friday 13th - What a day I've had!

  1. #1

    Default Friday 13th - What a day I've had!

    Not too bad until tonight!

My foster daughter turned up at the door after a night out covered (and I mean covered) in blood! Her hands, clothes, face were soaked!

She's asleep now so I can't get much sense out of her, but it seems she had an argument with someone. However, she threw a bottle at him, missed and hit my daughter's boyfriend who ended up in hospital having stitches in his head.

She seems to be OK - the blood seems to have come from her nose and it has been bleeding all evening, but has stopped now - not sure if she has broken it!

Cleaned her up, gave her some hot and very sweet tea as she seemed to be in shock and incoherent!

Daughter back with boyfriend now - he's OK, pretty cool about it being an accident, but said foster daughter had fallen over (seemingly on her face). I'm unsure as to whether it's a broken nose or not.

So, I have her blood stained clothes soaking in the bath, daughter's boyfriend's blood stained clothes in the washing machine!

Thank goodness Friday 13th has come and gone.

    I NEED A DRINK!!!

my day has been pretty ok too, the only thing that went wrong with my day was Emily decided to paint the carpet, walls, not to mention herself and damage alot of other bits, with kids paint, been scrubbing just before they went to bed, still won't come out of carpet.

Deffo gonna have to replace it, wouldn't mind but it hadn't been down that long

I went to collect a Prescription today, drove in the No Entry at the supermarket. Just avoiding a collision. Then the Pharmacist said "£13 for 2 items, what a coincidence Friday the 13th" So I scurried home and locked my door and have not moved since.

I'm an Atheist ..............I think................ anyway its the 14th now..........safe to venture out..................

Actually, the origins of all the fuss about "Friday 13th" are unclear. If you Google it you'll find dozens of stories which all offer possible explanations but nothing definitive at all. It seems that no one is really sure just where it all came from. Oh, and BTW, if you do Google it, the stuff about the ship is urban legend.

well, it's all cos christians didn't like the pagan references to it (13 to a coven etc) so they hijacked that as well....

Or is it because of the 13th guest at Jesus' table would have been the one who betrayed him and Christ was supposedly hanged on a Friday?

There are just to many possibiliites to know for sure.

    IMO.

HEH! Pagans lived way before the Christian faiths!

hi all; I found this link via yahoo; it's pretty interesting how there are so many theories as to how Friday the 13th came about. It made reference to Americans being superstitious about it, Egyptians, other cultrues, Christianity, pre-Christianity and all that stuff. Being an American, I'm not superstitious at all and being a Christian, I never give it a second thought But, check out the link; it's very interesting.
