In their own way they are often as self centred and disagreable as ebay.

    1. The site does fail from time to time.

    2. You need to list as a SELLER in order to accept larger sums. The catch then is that you find you CANNOT BUY sometimes as your balance between selling and buying is out of kilter and so by definition as a seller you cannot buy more than you have sold!!! So I asked them how was I supposed to use Nochex to restock. They spouted gibberish and blamed the FSA regulations. Ballcocks I say.

    3. It is very expensive to use if you keep putting in and taking out small sums as the min charge is £1 so let it accumulate. If you are a registered SELLER and then pump in a large balance you seem to fall into 2. above.

Overall, when it works it's OK if you have the sort of disposition that can tolerate inane logging-in procedures.

PS. Owned by HSBC by the way. So it's secure and you can always complain to the big cheese if desperate.

...... and I can't get in there this morning :? ... lol

but, when compared to Paypal I'll opt for Nochex every time If I have a buyer who asks whether I accept Paypal, I'm telling them that I haven't used it since I "left" eBay on the 5th June and recommend Nochex to them

Didn't know it was part of HSBC though

I use nochex all the time and have no probs.

You pay 99p to upload money to the account and 99p to download back to your bank account, but there are no transaction charges at all for sending or receiving money.

You can only have a maximum of £90 in your account unless you register with them as a business though. However, you can send up to £300 direct from your bank account if you need to pay for a large item (again, chargable at 99p for the transaction).

NOCHEX is fine. I have used them for a couple of years now and no problems apart from an occassional logon difficulty.

The only charge of 99p minimum for withdrawing money can be a problem if you need to take money out on a regular basis rather than let it accumulate to around a £100 or so.

I am actively trying to discourage my UK buyers from using Paypal as the fees are punitive on small transactions. Also my trust in them is now falling as the EEE [Ebay Evil Empire] tinkers with them.

    Regards to all....

I use Paypal and Nochex and I have to admit, I do prefer Nochex. It doesn't charge you for having money sent to you, only for withdrawing to your bank account as someone said earlier.

    I would certainly recommend it.

I can't use Nochex or PPPay, as I don't have debit cards, but if one or both would allow adding a bank account to your account, I would use them.. PayFee and fastpay allow me to link my bank account, so I can either choose to spend the money or dump it into my account.

Yes I know it can take up to 7 days, but not bothered about that.. I do prefer the idea of not taking CC payments and not having CC claim backs like happened to me at Feepay

    Doodoot,

U could say that my cable modem is bouncing so the site may go up and down but have a nosey at www.s3-landy.co.uk I had 3 of the things at one point.

Always looking for bits, the current one I need things like interiors for a 110 CSW rear, rear swing out wheel carrier.. Allsorts, but as a gradual buy in and fit, if I get it all at once, I'll never manage to get it all done LOL.

I'm not norty with parts, tho, I buy what I need, and when I've sort of "inherited" bits I don't need I pass them on.

If your other half has any scrapeprs for sale, I can export them to the USA via a friend in Canada (or decent ones for that matter), they go mad for them over there.

    Gary
