Default New Year Party & Fireworks thread!

Less than an hour to go here in UK - anyone not in Britain and have their New Year yet to come, please feel free to party on this thread when the New Year comes upon you

This is what I'll be seeing from my window, from the warmth of my home very soon:

What you drinking? What have you been drinking? Did you go anywhere nice tonight?

    Happy New Year!

That's cool....NYE is much nicer at home - no travelling or drunk strangers or trying to catch a packed bus or train...

That's why I started this thread: for all the people like us who didn't go out for whatever reason - WHO CARES IF WE DIDN'T GO OUT? Celebrations can take place wherever you are and whatever you're doing

Here's hoping to a better year for all of us...

My thoughts are also with those who cannot be with us, whether through distance, different plans, bereavement or lost contact. You are in my thoughts.

I think that's what happens when you get in your 30s...I'm the same! Much easier than all that dressing up and going out in the cold...I am here in the nude (don't tell Gaz! LOL!), with my heating up full blast, drinking red wine, about 10 foot from my bed, TV on, music ready for after midnight...LUXURY!!!

Did the bells at Thapae Gate here in Chiangmai - mega fireworks for about 30 minutes ..... including (snigger) too many people standing directly under the city walls when the "firework writing" and volcanoes went off = loads of singed hair styles because they didn't listen to the police warnings to move back.

Photo's to follow once I transfer them out of the camera and shrink the file sizes - maybe tomorrow (today)

After the fireworks, phoned a few people including Mum - she's loaded with flu and not a happy bunny this weekend. Took 20 minutes for the mobile network to clear before I could make and connect any calls, but then, there was about 5000 people in a 3000 sq metre plaza all trying to make calls at the same time.

Then went off to a local and got well & truly "fit shaced" with a few friends - ever noticed it's cheaper to get drunk quickly than it is to pace yourself?

Off to bed in a mo' - before the sun comes up and the monks start their alms round - not doing a post office run today (they're closed - lol)

    Happy New Year all
