I got some bath salts from my sis, a bar of cheap choc from my eldest (who is 13), and to top the day, the local b*****ds have smashed off everyone's wing mirror on this street and the next, 28 cars in total, minimum £100 damage on each car. We caught them on CCTV camera, on time lapse video, tracked them to their house and the police won't do anything. Bet if we'd have all gone round with baseball bats, the police would have been quick enough to arrest us though :-(( For some of them on the street, it's the third attack in under a week, for mine it's the third time this month, and 12th time since September, it's costing me nearly £50 a week in repairs for damage caused while the car is parked outside my house :-(

    Why not ?

If you and others make an official complaint the police MUST do something. If they still won't, go to local/national papers/TV/radio and see how fast they react then.

Thanks, Hoverstar. We've tried complaining, it gets us nowhere. This is the same police force that has refused to help me while my ex has sat in his car outside my house for hours or kept hanging around outside the house, following us everywhere etc for six years.

My car has probably had about 120-150 incidents of damage in four years. Lots of the neighbours have had the same. Even caught a bloke trying to break into my car once, called the police, they arrested him, took a statement off me, and..... well, that was it. Never heard anything else about it. Same when I caught a bloke who had broken into my house a few years ago - caught red-handed, he had my stuff in a bin bag outside the house, police took him in, they never charged him, and I never got my stuff back either.

I'm on medication because I can't sleep because of being afraid to sleep in case someone is damaging/stealing the car again, and have been on the waiting list to move elsewhere for four years. Police said if I got CCTV they would be able to do more, now they claim it's not enough evidence. We catch them red-handed, it's still not classed as enough evidence. Looks like it might have to be a good ole baseball bat to the skull party in the neighbourhood soon, when we have to start taking the law into our own hands.
