you PRESUME THE DEAD cant hear you dont KNOW!!!!!!!!!

As for being disrespectful, would you rather I act like a hypocrite and pretend I liked the man just because he's finally done the world and favour and left it? I've made it quite clear on the other threads about Best how I feel and I'm not suddenly going to change my mind now they've stuck him in a box.

dont want you to be a hypocrite at all - but doing the world a favour - oh im happier he is out of it........erm no......mugabee dead? yes? other peeps like that dead yes!!!!............what a joke - so presumptious....he had a lot of faults like us all sigh and he did many bad things like us all sigh but the majority of the people have said what a lovely guy he was

as for sticking him in a box....same coment from me as before - disrespectful and COLD...

That's odd. I thought his funeral was about sticking his vacant corpse into a hole in the ground.

the funeral was about saying goodbye to a football legend
    despite the rest of it

I doubt that I can match any comments about Hannibal Lecter either, but then I wouldn't wish to.

    Most odd.
ref to lecter was peeps witch hunting him as if he was a murderer or something

And no. I can't stand football.

    Actually, we do.

He mentioned it himself during a number of interviews. It was also covered by various news stories both broadcast and printed.

It was also why he allowed his photo of him dying to be published, to highlight the danger of alcohol abuse....

Oh, I see. So you were talking to me about comments made by other people as though I had something to do with them, instead of talking to the people who actually made the comments in the first place. Right. That makes sense now.

OK, without going into the metaphysical details of whether people have a non-physical form which continues to have some sort of consciousness and ability to interpret fluctuations in the air as words (this despite the fact they'd have no ear drum for the sound vibrations to act against) - IE ghosts, spirit or whatever chosen name you'd like - it is quite certain that the human body no longer retains the ability to "hear" and interpret sound once the previous owner has died as it is no longer physiologically possible. So, again, yes, I DO know.

And besides....his grave is too far away from us for him to hear the words we're tapping on a screen anyway

It's also probably good for us that we can't walk past his grave and hear anything he might have to say.

Like "Mine's a pint, please." or "Go on, just one more for the road".
