Thread: Secret Santa present

  1. #1

    Default Secret Santa present

I wasn't sure where to post this so thought I'd start a new thread. I was really down in the dumps as Hb may not be home from hospital over Xmas. Then the doorbell rang, and there was postie with my Secret Santa parcel. The label says "From Your Ebid Secret Santa". I have no idea who it is. I put it in the cupboard with the other pressie. They are both whispering. "Come on. Open us. You know you want to". My "Won't Power" is weakening. I went out and cleaned out the chicken house to take my mind off things. That is not my favourite job. The pressies are still sitting there beckoning.
Thankyou Secret Santa, whoever you are, for cheering me up. I do have something to look forward to now.

Hope your Hb is gonna be home soon Beryl, not nice being in hospital at christmas.
    Get well soon Beryl's Hb.

I have been to the PO this morning to pick up two parcels that could not be pushed through my letterbox.

Both of them are secret santa's gifts, and I don't know which is from here or from AG, and no idea who sent them.

Can I open them now please?...........pretty please.

I have no will power, so it won't be long before I give in.

You know who you are, so a great big thankyou to my secret santa.

Emerson it isn't WILL Power. It is WON'T Power.
Keep repeating I WON'T open the pressies. I have one from a dear friend, and my Secret santa pressie both whispering to me.

Hb should have been half way to coming home. For 9 days they have ignored his chest infection. I told them he needed antibiotics, but they knew best. They put off his transfer to another hospital twice as "they couldn't get an ambulance". He had a bad fall which gashed open both arms and one leg as he tangled with the bed mechanism. They knew he had mobility problems. They gave him a zimmer frame after he fell. His chest infection got worse and he is now on Oxygen and intravenous antibiotics. His transfer has been put back until Sunday. Yesterday a Doctor tried to change his Meds and give him steroids which he refused to take. His meds were agreed by four Consultants dealing with his heart disease, leukaemia, arthtitis and athsma. They have to be compatable with each other, and not interfere with his other conditions. The steroids this Doctor prescribed are contra indicated in Athsma and unknown with respect to side effects in Leukaemia. The inhalers were in plain view on the bed table, and a warning sign on his file, and clipboard. This Doctor said he didn't know about the athsma and leukaemia. His English wasn't very good either. I think he is Spanish or Italian. From past experience of similar incompetence, I didn't want Hb to go there. Twice he has had a bed available at a better hospital
and they couldn't even order an ambulance.
3 years ago when he was in there they sent him downstairs for ambulance transfer, and forgot about him. He was left in a wheelchair with no nurse, food or meds for 7 hours. When I threatened to call the Police as he hadn't arrived at the other hospital, and the ambulance service had no record of his transfer, they remembered where he was. He couldn't get out of the chair to get help, and no-one heard him shouting. There is only one member of Staff on his ward speaking good english. I think she is Indonesian and a very good Staff Nurse. The rest are hopeless. One gets him into his chair "ready for breakfast" at 5.30 am. I think he will hit her with the zimmer frame before long.

Flippin eck Beryl, that is awful, there must be someone who could help, an MP, or local councillor, or get in touch with the papers.

Something has to be done, that is terrible.

I really hope you can get him home for christmas.
