Thread: So when will you be putting up your Xmas decorations?

Love the lounge and decs, it looks dead classy. Mine usually just looks like someone has emptied the contents of Poundland into the lounge, no matter how expensive the decs were. Mine are more tacky than tasteful. Oh well, maybe I will do tasteful when the kids leave home and I can get rid of the glitter covered, carol singing tat!

A street running parallel to ours put their up at the start of November, way too early. The kids love the journey from their gran's house around Xmas though, after dark, 15 miles worth of "look right" "look left" and "oooooooooh!" at suitably impressive displays as we pass.

I'll probably get the decs out today or tomorrow, see how shabby they are, get new ones where necessary, get them up maybe on the 1st Dec (the earliest I ever put them up).

Bit worried about the tree though. It used to go in the gap between chair and sofa, but now I have a corner suite, there isn't the room. Plus I have one extra cat compared to last year, and she is a right little monkey, no doubt she will try eating the tinsel, and I will have tinsel wrapped cat plops in the litter tray until New Year :-/

I think I will have to leave a message to Santa under the tree saying: "NO MORE BLOODY CATS NEXT YEAR!"

Mine are going up in 2 weeks time - I get a real tree, and they start looking a bit tired after more than a couple of weeks, so the decs will go up on the 10th/11th December and come down again on the 2nd of January.

And THEN I will paint my living room!

I just went outside to take a picture of one of my neighbours houses, but they have turned off the lights.
    It's really over the top.

I shall be putting my decorations up this weekend.
