    Default Courier, parcel services...advice please.

This is not going to be clearly put, cos I don't know what I'm talking about but....
I have never sent a parcel by anything other than Royal Mail before...but now I have a parcel that I think is too large for the post. So I need a courier/parcel service instead.

Can someone tell me the best one to use. The parcel is going to Scotland (not international post...lol)
I Googled, but the list was so confusing and I just don't know which one is the safest.

You'll need to know the weight and, if it is large or awkward, the size too.

Round here DHL stands for Drop it, Hide it, Lose it.

They put one of my parcels in a neighbours shed. [We were at home at the time!] It was found 2 weeks later when my neighbours returned from holiday, and after I had phoned the sender and created merry h*ll as the item was meant to be a Birthday present.

They dropped a parcel, which had been well wrapped, but glass doesn't stay in one piece if the corner of the box has been crushed. It was packed in polystyrene moulding inside a thick cardboard box. From the black marks it looked like someone ran a van over it.

Another parcel got lost, and they found it at the depot a year later. Meanwhile the firm had replaced the item. I found the parcel on the doorstep. No explanation, and the driver didn't know how to work the doorbell or knocker!!! I contacted the firm, and they said to keep the item as it had by that time been replaced in their stocks by a newer model.

    Parcel2go.com send parcels through DHL.

I've used Initial CityLink to send a laptop to Londinium without any dramas.

I always find that CityLink parcels arrive with me faster and in better condition than with other couriers.

    www.senditquick.com

are very good, never had a prob with them either and used them 6 times, i've seen there ad on here at the bottom of the page, they will take upto 30kg in weight and collect the same day if you order before 12 midday.

Parcel 2 go, I wouldn't touch with a barge pole, i've had lots of problems with them, their customer service is useless too, ended up making loads of phone calls to them, they don't like to refund you if something goes wrong either.

    Default parcel

    Parcel2 go.......no go

Try interparcel.co.uk. Competitive pricing but priced on item size as well as weight. Only one of two places that could deliver an item upto 50kg.
or Parcelfusion.co.uk. Straightforward 2 day service upto 30kg for 7.95 which I think is including vat but not sure. See site for details etc.
