Am I correct in thinking you cannot have a "Buy now" without a auction? I think it could be benneficial to both sellers and buyers to have the option of "buy now" only, as buyers will know what the seller wants for the item. must say this site is much better than ebay which is a rip off cause you have to incorporate final value fees into prices.

You're quite correct, there is no facility as yet to have a true Buy Now auction. I have resorted to setting the starting bid at 1p below the Buy-It-Now price on this type of auction, hoping the customer will get the hint that they are not looking at a bidding auction. Oddly, a lot of people have failed to notice the inference and have bidded at the starting price, forcing them to wait a week for the auction to end. Some peole will do anything to save a penny.
