    Default Need computer help

    please help.

I am using IE browser and it disallows redirections. If I visit a website that redirects me to another page 9such as ebay login screen) then it does not take me to the other page.

Its causing me real problems running my web hosting business as my root access uses redirection from login to management screen.

can someone please advise exactly how to sort this 9thats if anybody else knows how to) ?

    thank you

I can't think of anything offhand apart from spyware or a virus.

Have you done a full check recently?

Might it be something as simple as an overzealous pop-up blocker? Or might it be javascript being disabled on your browser, thus not letting any javascript redirects work?

It isn't a virus or spyware, i'm well protected.
It happened when I left my Laptop on, the battery run out and laptop cut off, then once I re-started and it went through the standard 'windows not shut down' checkup, it reset all of my settings and this is one of the settings changed.

Stu_millard, that could be the problem. Do you know how to enable it or check it is enabled.

Also, with popu-ups, they simply open in a new windows with location bar ect. e.g. I clicked on a live help box and rather than opening as a pop-up, it opened in a new browser window. Could this be because JAVA is enabled ?

Ordinarily, controls for activating Javascript are located in IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced (I think!)

I tell a lie! IE > Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level > somewhere towards the bottom (on the list I have!)
