  1. #1

Smile Have become a seller at last - hoorah!!

Just wanted to say to everyone that has heard me harping on about WHEN I eventually start selling well listing and trying to sell.

I have done it I have about 5 items listed 2 of which are in the wronmg sections and one I had to delete as I put the wrong colour but atleast I have done it at long last.

Thank you to everyone who has given me a hand over the cough cough 16 months or so cough cough

Still having a few issues with the photos but I wll be a whizz soon and then be able to walk others through as some of you have done with me.

    So THANK YOU xxxxxxxx

I will try and work out from past threads how to put the link thingy to the bottom of my posts on here and also work out how to edit them after I have posted them you know what its like you preview it and think yep and then post it and look again and nope theres an error

But as I am now a seller I can give the boys hell and support from both buyer and seller angles now

Hi Debbie, congrats on your new seller status!

To add a link to your auctions in your signature is quite easy.
Click on User CP at the top of this page, then edit signature.
Type in some text that you wish to use

    e.g...

Please Click Here to take a look at my auctions

this is an example, you use whatever you wish. change the colour, size etc by using the toolbar.

next, highlight the text you wish to use for your link (in this example use click here)
once highlighted, click on the little icon which looks like a globe with 2 links of a chain (beneath the smilie icon arrow)

insert your link into the box provided

I have copied the link to your auctions for you, you will need to c&p this into the box...

    http: //uk.four.ebid.tv/perl/main.cgi?words=dm47red&mo=search&type=user

(remove the space between the : & the / )

This is the way I did mine.

    Inchworm - Jo

Thank you so very much. If you had not included my http bit I would of been stumped.

But I have done it and its my signature very clever how it works me thinks

Now I want to fully understand how you found the http bit and where you got it from so I inturn can then help someone else.

And would it be a simple case of changing the dm47red for inchworm if so to do yours if you know what I mean?

Thank you again and to everyone

if you put your user id in the box on the right *search ebid users* and click go takes you to all yer auctions - at the top in your address bar you will see the url for all your auctions

similarly if you have a store - click on your store button by the side of any auction and same happens - addy on top will be the url for your store

    Hi Debbs,

easy innit? up n running now then

Emma's the one that told me about putting a link to my text, so it's thanx to her or i'd never have been able to pass it on.
    Cheers Em!
She's right, once you have entered an ID & clicked in the "search ebid users" box, the http addy will be in your address bar - just copy & paste it to put the link into the signature.

All the Best with your auctions

Debbs - your email address has disappeared from your auctions - eBid's software does this automatically, so you'll have to find some way round this....

Thanks Rainbow for letting me know stupid me obviously missed that. Not sure how to get round that as you cant go in an edit currently running auctions can you ?

Why does the software remove it?? I presume it is to stop people putting links to their own websites or something and taking business from Ebid but an email address is only that.

I myself hate the ask the seller a question as your question cannot be kept private which I myself think should be as what I ask a seller is nobody elses business unless it is something like what size because I have missed it out of the write up.

I will get round it even if I have to add an extra paragraph to do so.

Many thanks I guess I will have to delete those auctions and start them again from fresh or else they will look rubbish not good for a new seller.

    Thank you
