    Default Potential PHISHING ???????

    Hi,
I received an email asking a queston about my auction, I viewed my auction, and there was not a question.

    The email;

Question : Hello seller, I am mike john from NY i am interested in purchasing 2
QTY of this item which i will be sending to my new appointed manager
in Nigeria via EMS speedpost, so i will be sending the payment for
the item via Money order (BidPay) in which you will recieve the
confirmation mail of the payment from the bidpay so as soon as you
recieve the confirmation i want you to ship out the item as sson as
possible,so i want you to send me your full name and address + the
shipping cost ant the total cost of the item for me to submit it to
the bidpay for the payment ."send me mail to this address "... com"

Seems a potential scam to somebody chasing a sale, to me. Could anybody confirm this.

Email could be forwarded for investigation.

    Thanks.

    Keywords for a scam:-

Nigeria, Bidpay, Western Union, Money Order

IF you want to accept Western Union, the bidder does NOT need to know your address.

This is like many others out there - a scam. They will either send a fraudalent email pretending to be from Bidpay so you send the goods without ever receiving the actual money, or use your details for an identity theft. Or both!

Hi havugot1 - if you ever see the word "Nigeria" in any correspondence from a buyer or potential bidder, run a mile! It's a scam - please report the "bidder's" ID to support@ebid.tv

Additionally, forward the e-mail to support@ebid.tv so that they can close down the fraudulent account.

I've passed on 3 so far today, the quicker these accounts get closed the more likely the scammers are to move elsewhere.

This scam is sooooooo old now! I wonder if they, the scammers, are suffering from lost brain cells?

When I see "nigeria" and/ or "western union(bidpay)" in any emails sent to me by bidders, I usually print it up, drive out to a desert, burn it, take the ashes, drive to the most harshest place on this planet, and bury it!

You can't possibly take these people seriously for trying out this old-as-dirt scam on you.

Keep your head up, there are still honest people out there!

The trouble is, there are loads of newbies starting to sell on auction websites, they are not aware of these scams. Although, more and more people are being made aware of these, there will still be many being conned by them.

It would be much easier to delete the email
