Firstly, no one sells school shoes for girls in a size 6 anymore - they seem to stop at about a size 1. The only shoes you can get are womens/granny moccasins, which she won't be caught dead in. Or those really girly little ballerina ones or Mary Janes ones (or whatever they are called) which she hates. Which leaves boots or sandals, which they aren't allowed to wear. And most shoes are very slim fitting, and she has quite wide feet. Been in soooo many shoe shops that I think I have worn my shoes out now!

So, off to one of these outlet retail places tomorrow, see if that is any more helpful.

You wouldn't have thought a pair of girl's school shoes would have been like finding dodo droppings, would you?

SIZE 6 ? Is the most common shoe size for women in the uk. APARENTLY.
My daughters ... the (13 , almost 14 yr old takes a size 4 ) lol ( eldest 15 almost 16 yr old takes a size 8 ) I take a 5 1/2 but find them hard to get so tend to slop around in 6s
    LOL

Mind you Nats dad is a size 13 1/2 shoe and just under 6 foot 4 ... so her taking an 8 isnt that much of a shock. . well ..... lol

OMG! My kids dad is 6ft 1, but only take about a 10 in shoes. I think his mother was about an 8. We have diddy feet on our side of the family - my mother takes a size 3.

Off to try the retail outlet this morning, see if we can find any last-season's style she might like better.

As for Clarks - not surprised, I've been hearing the same things for years, loads of choice in baby/toddler sizes, nothing for kids over about age 5.

One of my mates from college bought some boots for herself from there at Xmas, paid £50, they split after 2 days, she took them back, got another pair, same thing. This time they offered to repair them, she told them to get stuffed, she wanted another pair. Third pair split after 3 days - meaning she had gone through three pairs of boots in a week. She said she's had better quality going to Johnathan James!

& I'm not even 5 foot 3 ( just under ) can you imagin how REDICULOUS we looked even with my 4 inch heels ... pms

He wasn't the tallest either when i was young went out with 2 blokes who where 6 - 5"

    DONT KNOW WHY. LOL

I think they seemed more manly if they where tall

My husband was a tad over 6ft.

Dennis is only 5 , 10" and takes a 10 in shoes though so thats pretty normal . LOL

    PS : My mum takes a 3 to a 4 too. lol
