Restrictive though it may seem, I can't see any reason (unless it's in the Ebid rules) why a seller can't put something like this, as it's one way of maximising profit and ensuring immediate guaranteed payment. Their loss though, it doesn't exactly promote good customer relations - would YOU buy from someone who imposed such restrictions? I'm only surprised the seller hasn't asked buyers to pay their bank charges as well

I have to say the attitude seems fairly "normal" even if the wording is rather abrupt.

Most sellers I know are happy to accept cheques or Postal Orders as well, even cash, and to combine postage costs for multiple items. I always make it clear that cash is sent at the buyer's own risk, and I offer both normal post and insured post - so it's up to the buyer if they don't want to cover themselves against loss in the post.

Of course, goods should not be despatched until cheques have cleared and Postal Orders have been accepted by the bank - but that risk is the seller's.

Given the number of problems that people can have trying (and failing) to pay by PayPal through no fault of their own, it seems self-defeating not to accept snail mail payment.

    Cheers
