Hi, I re-suggested the multiple listings feature a while back, the more people that post on the thread the more likely we are to see progress with it, people power and all that.

Please take a few minutes to lend your comments/support to this thread http://helpdesk.ebid.tv/showthread.php?t=73837

If your new to ebid, it might be worthwhile you checking out the rest of the website suggestions forum and give your backing to any suggested changes you feel would benefit the site.

Maybe this is putting people off, so why not give new users the 1st year free and then pay a yearly membership there after including those who are already members. For those who don't pay within a certain time limit should be removed as a member and would show the true stats of this site.

I am sure that if you multiplied the said fee by the amount of members you would even raise a little for an advertising campaign.

If you take what Ebay members pay in fees a year it would equate a lot more than an anual fee even for people who are not power sellers.

If this security subscription fee is to try and stop scammers then it won't work because it's other peoples money they use anyway. If you want to stop that then somewhere in 'My Ebid' should be a button to report an item that hasn't been delivered within a certain time scale, the seller should have a temporary ban until the problem is sorted out or if if isn't then a permanent ban.

One clause to this before any ban should be implemented, Ebid should check the feedback of both buyer and seller as this is usually the best way to judge when not knowing both parties.

Nobody wants to seenew comers to the site put off, but this does seem to be the case, so something needs to be changed for the better of the users and the site owners.

I am not sure why this was introduced. Was it to get the site to pay it's way or maybe to deter the chancers and scammers? If it was to get the site to start paying it's way then there are other and probably far better ways of doing this.
I don't know where this site is heading but I am quite sure that it is going in the wrong direction currently. There were a lot of things I would have liked to see sorted out before globalisation. Presently it just comes across as a shambolic back bedroom operation not a professional one. This in itself will drive people away in droves.

I totally agree. Have just signed up to find out this horrible "subscription" thing. Its not free to sell on ebid at all, the security subscription is the same as charging a fee. To sell a few items I wouldn't be against paying a one of fee but reoccurring????. Get real or go out of business. I'm going back to Ebay.

I think we are forgetting - at least we are not being fleeced for a final value fee... or are we??
I came over from ebay because by the time you take off your lisiting fee, final value fee and paypal fees, you are not as better off as you thought you were.

How do you expect the website to make money and improve service if it is a completey non profit making site?

I have paid ebay fees of £25 in a month - that could have bought me a years worth of lisitings!!! You don't need to pay your £40 straight off - pay 99p for a week (- or push the boat out and do 2 weeks!!) and see how it goes. Get a load of items together, List them and put them on auto relist for a few times. If you list enough items it makes it sooo much cheaper than ebay! If your stuff sells, your a winner, if it doesn't you are down less than a quid.

If I had a clap hands smiley I would use it now!
Everyone says this site needs ore advertising and G&M need money to do that.
I've written about this in the Kitchen Table... but I'll say it again.. two years ago I couldn't afford eBay fees.. my business had to make money to buy new stock etc... My business is doing very well now and I put it all down to my first year where I sold pretty much only on here. Without eBid I honestly don't think I would be doing as wella s I am.
Google searches pick up the items for sale.. G&M have even asked for people to write their own google adverts and they will get them added...
The fee isn't that big, once you have paid it you don't have to pay any more fees unless you choose to.... you don't really have that much to lose imo... apart from large eBay fees every month!

there is no final value fee UNLESS you CHOSE to use a gallery picture, and then only if it sells you pay a small percentage of the final bid,
    £0.00-£2.00=£0.05
    £2.01-£10.00=£0.10
    £10.01-£25.00=£0.30
    £25.01-£100.00=£0.75
    £100.01-£500.00=£1.50

    Question Security Subscription

    Hi
I've just this minute discovered ebid totally by accident, liked the idea of a free auction as I've been listing on eBay and hate their fees. Now I've found it's not free I have to pay a subscription. If I buy the cheapest subscription, will my auction close once the subscription runs out, or can I just not list anything else. Looking through I can't find anything with bids on so I'm reluctant to fork out much money until I know the site works. Is there anyone out there selling much?
    Thanks.

One of the reasons that it look slike nothing has bids on is simply because it is free to have BIN option on your listing. So a lot of the sales that happen here are with BIN... so you won't see them.

I'm not sure how the subscription works.... hopefully someone else will be able to tell you more. I *think* (but could well be wrong) that if you take a subscription it is recurring until you stop it.

Welcome to eBid by the way.

    Hi
Re subscriptions, as Sophia said, they are recurring, except the lifetime one, but I'm not quite sure how payment works... I assume your card is just debited with the the amount as and when it's due.

As to auctions with bids on, it is possible to view these..... if you go to the home page search box and click advanced search... at the bottom there is an option to view busy auctions (currently over 400)

Hope this helps.... good luck with your sales
