Default "on first bid" auction items end dates

Previously, auction items set to start "on first bid" used to expire after 6 months.
I intended to wait till my items ended to add international availability & shipping costs etc.
Now it seems my items are staying listed indefinitely - is this a site change?

Whilst I consider this an improvement, I'd just like to know if this is a permanent feature, so I can start upgrading my items to international

Why would you want to know if "On First Bid" is permanent before going international? Surely, even if they only lasted 6 months then you could still do so. The only difference with international is postage costs which can be placed in your auction.

Waiting till items end was just a convenient way of deciding whether to relist or bin my items & knowing which ones I'd edited
