    Tony, you got it wrong.
According to the listing rules, eBooks ARE allowed. The only thing connected with eBooks not allowed is if you list them several times, known as multiple-listing.

It is my understanding that eBooks are allowed to be sold in dutch auctions, as long as only 1 auction is listed at a time.

Cybertax, you have it wrong : )
I know this because I was suspended about a week ago for selling them. I only listed 1 auction as a dutch.
mmmm..I have just looked at restricted items:
    eBooks Multiple listings

It is not fair on other members to show row after row of the same identical item.
This has an adverse effect on the entire community.
If you want to list multiple identical items please list as a Dutch Auction.
Says nothing about not being able to sell eBooks. If this is the case then why was I suspended. I think we are both right (!!!).

    26) What items are banned on eBid?
Below is not an exhaustive list but you should be aware that you are ultimately responsible for making sure that the buying or selling of an item is legal in the eyes of the law.

    eBooks Multiple listings

I think that what happens is people are over-zealous when reporting 'disallowed' auctions to eBid support ('shoezone' in particular). Gazza and Mark appear to cancel these auctions and suspend your account - without actually checking them out. It is then upto the individual seller to plead their case to get their account re-instated - I find this incredibly wrong, and am rather unhappy at the situation.

I have myself been in this situation several times, and have also found that my auctions have been reported, when selling eBooks and other items. I have repeatedly pointed out the lack of evidence of listing violation, and have repeatedly had my account un-suspended after around 5 days.

It is an unfair situation for sellers, but for the moment there appears to be nothing we can do, except keep on at Gazza and Mark to clarify matters.

Auction Patrol is there for a reason,

Alert us to undesirable items for sale. Including Multiple listings, Pirated, Copied and VCD's, Ads/Promotions,'Get rich schemes' and 'do not bid on auction' etc Please list full urls or auction ids of the auctions when reporting.

all i do is report any listings that fall into the above category,i trust Mark/Gazza to check these out before they are deleted.

I usually look for the scams which i report direct to the boys and not post on the forum pages.

if people checked the listing rules first, there would be no need to report them .

    Default Listing violations

The problem seems to be that Gazza and Mark DON'T appear to check out reported listings before suspending accounts. I have had my account suspended two different times for two different alleged listing violations - one of which I happen to know what was reported by you, shoeshine! After several days of my continuous emailing Gazza and Mark, and also making posts to this forum, I managed to get my account re-instated.

It is worth noting that as eBid is basically a two-man team, they probably don't have the time or resources of other auction sites to check everything out - they rely on others to report accurate facts.

An example of this would be if somebody listed eBooks for sale, and this was posted on the forum as a listing violation. I firmly believe that the auctions would be cancelled and the account suspended - even though the listing rules do not actually state eBooks are not allowed.

Just because you 'believe' that they are not allowed, does not mean that this is actual fact.

Scuse me hun, I think we have been down this road before, shoeshine is right, the auction patrol IS there to report listing violations, and G&M ask for it to be used.
The ultimate decision for the removal of anything that is reported, is left to the owners of the site, they make the rules.

And as I too report on auction patrol, I take great exception to be tagged as over zealous, if people checked the listing rules first, there would be no need to report them.

As for lack of evidence re ebooks, again I will copy the (evidence)
