Thread: How Many Want eBid Seen More

Default How Many Want eBid Seen More

I think I know the answer to that as a seller here!
I have said in other threads to utilize Pinterest with your own account not eBids only - as a seller here each and every one of you can create your own seller account and pin all of your listing in boards you create on Pinterest.
That being said I can attest to the value of doing this to greatly increased traffic to my items listed here
Pinterest is global - eBid is global so it is a no brainer to promote there
I used their paid advertising several times - not horribly pricey as I always set the cost to one dollar per item I place and limit the time run
that works great when you can see your traffic increase greatly after you run a few items
its free advertising if you create boards in your account and associate your items with like items on pinterest - that really works and is just your time not money spent
    in doing this
I have 70 boards in my account and the effort is snowballing with visits to my listings - imagine what just might happen if each seller here did the same thing!

yes it is work but I have never been afraid of working to get my stuff seen

As someone who has only heard of and seen Pinterest but never used it, it sounds like it pays dividends but the process described sounds like a fair bit of effort and a bit confusing from the outside.

to be honest in the past when I was on bonanza I never had any interest in pinterest myself but I did pay pinterest based promoters to promo my listing on bonanza
which made a lot of sales
long story shortened I left bonanza and came here and now need to promote my listing so I created my seller pinterest account - very easy to do!
it has resulted in sales since I been doing it and I have looked into what makes pinterest work so am doing that also
it is a fair bit of work but in the long run means visits to my items which brings traffic to the site
Not a quick fix but something that will snowball in time - my pinterest pins are in the starting to snowball phase

another comment I wish to make is that I do not want to place my success as a seller here in anyone else's hands - I will do as much work as needed to garner sales

with that said I put in 3 hours a day promoting my stuff - it is on each and everyone of us to make this site work

you want the owners to advertise then up go all the costs of a sale and more fees will be added

I think we as sellers here can make it work for all of us by putting in the time and effort it will take

Simple branded tape etc would give 10 times more visibility and we the sellers would buy the tape, Pinterest is ok but not as popular as it use to be due to Instagram and tik tok
Branded tape put on any parcel from sales on other sites, means the buyers either think they bought it on eBid or wonder what eBid is - ebuygu*** did a tape push to tons of sellers especially you tubers and got results

Yeah, I'd probably buy some of that if it were available.

From what I recall Border you're as critical of ebids lack of promotion of this site as I am. I've raised the advertising (or lack of it!) issue so many times and again I've seen the call for tape so many times.
Can I just add that while any form of promotion is good, tape is NOT going to raise this site up from the dead on its own.

About two years ago I even gave a quick quote that I'd researched on what 500 rolls of tape would cost - can't remember the exact figure but it was really peanuts in real terms and the owners should be able to finance it easily - IF they wanted to. BUT would I buy it, hell no, because first of all, I never did like the idea of posting items that someone had purchased with any idea on the box that it was something with a value because it might get nicked.

More importantly 'why' should anyone here have to spend time promoting this site on behalf of this company - or any company?? As I said a couple of years ago if you take your items to an auction house, it's the auction house that does the advertising and not the person who puts the items in for auction!

Well I and many others including buyers only knew about this site many years back due to the tape, the site was doing ok in those days and IMO much better than it is now. There is now no way for anyone to notice this site, big you tubers have looked at the site tried it, most praised it for easy of use but the same thing put them off and that was lack of traffic and sales.
The owners have said they can't afford to properly advertise, so the only options are slowly gaining traffic or increasing the fee's to gain the ability to advertise a little.
I only remain here because this is the first site I had my first few sales on and I have always wanted it to become a thriving site but I have stopped listing here for the past few months since nothing is happening. Next year I will either stop altogether or try a revamp but right now my attention is being taken by other places

There needs to be more choice. Of the 11 authors I looked for there is not one of their books for sale on ebid and yet 9 out of the 11 were on ebay. Same thing with jigsaws, as my eyes are getting worse I been looking for 500 piece as they are easier to do. There are only 214 listed in the UK, yet on the other site there are over 14,000.

So why would people bother coming over here if they can't find what they want. Not checked out other categories as I have no interest in them.

well I for one will not just sit complaining about no sales and the site does not advertise - they have provided a platform to list and make sales on at very low cost to the seller in my opinion its up to the seller to advertise and put in the work - so I will be working to get my items seen and hopefully make a few sales
not going to just sit and complain with my thumb up my backside about conditions
