It is a shame yeah. I’ve found the same thing on V too, I have removed 66 stamps from eBid today and 1 buyer has bought the lot for £90. It has taken me 4 hours to do it but I got fed up waiting here.

If I get multi quantity type items then I’d always list here but I’m reluctant to put one off items on. Hope it changes in future.

Sounds like you guys are doing well over there. I suppose the experience over there depends on what you're selling; I was reading recent reviews on Trustpilot and it seems like there are a lot of scammers, both buying and selling, especially when it comes to more expensive items such as clothing and to top it off the customer service apparently leaves a lot to be desired. Those reviews are putting me off trying and the supposed long delay times in getting paid. Having said that, the proof is in the pudding and you guys are selling so all's good so far.

That’s true you have to be careful but I’ve been ok. I have a buyer there who I knew would want the stamps here so tbh I knew it was worth doing. I’m sending him a lot of free stuff as he has paid top end I don’t think he checked them all either as he bought 5 mins after I told him they were readied to go live.

It does me a favour I want to move the stamps on and he’ll get another £50 or so worth that I know he would have paid for I just cba listing them all. There are some nice buyers there from my dealings (less than 500 hundred sales but all have been pretty smooth)

I'm sorry that some of you are disappointed with eBid. Sales recently have been poor - I think it is the economic situation and postage charges. I hardly sell abroad because the postage is insane. TBH, I hardly sell in UK at the moment and nothing has changed here except the economy!

With obscure items, why not keep them listed here and sell odd ones elsewhere and then point people to your listings here?
    Madelaine

    My Postcard Shop
    BK Stamps for Philatelic listings

I've had good success on Vinted, I removed all the stamp 'volume' lots that had sat here for months with nothing and sold every single one of them there. It is madness really as the buyers are not only paying more in postage, but pay a buyer protection fee and (in the case of stamps) get a parcel with a label on it - which is not much use to a stamp collector! As for telling buyers there about ebid, I have frequently done this for years, on obey as well, it's proved successful only twice out of hundreds of sales.
Ebid is unknown and you are not going to convince buyers to come unless they start seeing some evidence of a site that is legitimate and safe and has a presence.

As for listing unique items here and getting sales Madelaine has a very good example of a £1 Postal Union stamp which is sensibly priced and its sat here for months despite her efforts!

For me and many other folks who had high hopes and faith in eBid being a much needed replacement for eBay it has been VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Whilst I somewhat agree the present economy in UK does play a small part in less sales online because people now have to watch closely what they spend nowadays... It still seems that people are still getting lots of success and regular sales on Vinted and some on eBay.

Here on eBid it is COMPLETELY DEAD unless you know how to "fend for yourself" by self promotion and get buyers to come over here and buy what items you have for sale.

I always used to moan about poor sales on eBay... but after 6 months on here and selling on no other site, I eat my words !... at least on eBay I was getting 1 or 2 sales every 5-6 weeks, here I am getting NOTHING ! nothing at all.

Whilst, I really do like how nice and easy it is to use eBid and the luxury of PayPal quick payment (when it does happen), I am really sad and disappointed by the lack of sales and buyer interest on here (eBid).

eBay have now bought back faster 24 hour payments after many complaints of slow and shoddy payments but it is their stupid Simple Delivery idea (where they dictate what postal service you are allowed to use) which they just won't listen to their users and revert back to giving their sellers the option not to use Simple Delivery if they don't want it, is what's now stopping me going back to selling on eBay...

Although eBid is a nice site and pretty straight forward to use, It is no match for Vinted or eBay as it lacks SHEAR PUBLICITY AND APPEAL.

Whatever Vinted are now doing, they are doing it 100% RIGHT to attract millions of buyers and sellers over to their platform and eBid need to look closely at this and follow suit.

You made some great points. You've sold one more than me! It is obvious that eBid have no interest in doing. anything to promote the site, not even a simple updated YouTube video - how hard can that be.

We are just the latest in probably a long line of people who joined in years past in the hope things would pick up or they'd advertise. The latest in a long line of disappointed folk that have pointed out the obvious as have many others in the past. Nothing happened then and nothing will happen now because if it were to happen it would have already done so as the train's left the station already.

There are great opportunities to get sales there at the moment. Buyers are paying more as you say, it is slightly baffling. I had a stamp here for £1.49 freepost and sold it on V for over £5 inc the postage and BPF.

Stamps and coin sales have been impressive there for me, I think we are benefitting from making the leap and not thinking of it as just a clothing site. I have noticed other coin sellers from eBay are appearing there, in time it will get flooded but for now it’s great.

Yes sales there are bouyant, the whole key to this is purely advertising. This place refuses to do anything, as tonnesofstuff says, they won't even produce an up to date video for youtube!
I could criticise Vinted for lots of things...

Vinted is an awful site as regards searches, you don't necessarily find what you are looking for.
Listing is easy but its geared for clothing, which is what it set up to sell - hence things like 'one size fits all' does not work when selling diecast or half the other collectible items. Neither does having a colour reference on everything. Fancy saying a football programme is 'multi' coloured?!
There are too few categories and some things end up in crazy sections.
So as I say I can find lots of faults, but as for being scammed, its not yet happened to me touch wood.
Time wasters - had a couple but the system allows people to make an offer, you accept it and then they totally ignore you. so thats flawed.
Postage may be expensive but as you say - people pay it, but they will make crazy offers as they try to claw it back. I've done it myself, making a couple of silly offers - and wow they were accepted.
The payment system is better than you might expect, 2 days to accept or reject an item you purchase and after that forget it.

If only ebid were prepared to invest a bit of money, they might shock themselves!

However at the moment i do see Vinted as the future because obey has had its day and is in serious trouble. If Vinted get their act together they have it in their hands to destroy obey.
