I just want to say a big THANK YOU to Gazza. I'm sure whatever problems there are with the new image system will soon be ironed out. I've long moaned about the lack of simple onsite crop and rotate, I'd given up hoping there'd be any improvement and I'm delighted to be proved wrong.
People coming from ebay (and I imagine there are a lot, considering how that site has become en****tified this year) are used to having such features. Indeed, although the ebay app is horrible in most respects, I found it very handy for my photos. I create the listing on the desktop, all except the pics, save as a draft, then used the ebay app, which allowed me to crop and rotate on the phone and submit the listing. Much much easier.
For ebid I had to figure out how to transfer my photos from phone to desktop without using broadband (very poor speed here). (Did that, smb share). Even after messing about with a photo editor, the pictures would still not be in my desired orientation sometimes (this is to do with EXIF data I believe). If I can crop and rotate successfully using the new system, this will save me time and further encourage me to see ebid as my site of choice for some kinds of item.
I upload the photos for just one listing at a time, thus I don't run into constraints on the number in a single upload. I can imagine others have different workflows though. For me, it would be nice if, when making a listing and then using the uploader, I had an option to select those pics in my gallery that I'd just uploaded, rather than having to click, say, a dozen checkboxes individually. But that's only a "would be nice", whereas crop/rotate will be a game changer for me.
THANK YOU!
edit to add: I see even this forum is Bowdlerised. For anyone unfamiliar with the word that acquired 4 asterisks, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/En****tification for an explanation. The word was even added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2024!
2nd edit: I give up. Even links suffer.
