It has been hot and humid for 4 weeks.
Hard to sit at a computer to enter listings.
I have about 30 listings to do and just can't.
I could move the fans in front of the computer to keep me cooler, but I get antsy for the outside.
I have a pile of new projects to sew and can't seem to sit still.
I am just behind on getting work done outside and down at the farm.

    Whewwwww!

When will the heat and humidity be done. Tired of having wet clothes from all the sweating.

I'm fortunate to not use that excuse - I sit in a nice comfy armchair, have 2 ceiling fans circulating the air plus a desk fan when it gets too hot, a constant supply of either hot or cold drinks less than twenty feet away so I'm always near refreshment... My problem is I'm officially retired as my dear lady keeps reminding me and she's always trying to drag me off out somewhere and the lure of the air conditioning in the car is very very hard to ignore....

I've caused a drop in listings as I stupidly fell in a charity shop on the 14th and broke my right hip. Finally back home but it will take me some time to get everything back up and running.

Oh dear, hope your recovery goes well, I fell in the garden nearly 2 years back and smashed my right shoulder so I really appreciate what you're going through.

Ouch, that's painfull, glad you are back.

You are officially excused listing duties untill Christmas, way to painfull to manouver around a keyboard.

As for people that say it's too hot / humid, imagine that heat multiplied by a large overfriendly dog !

Morning Quiescent Quantifiers. Quoted Quintillion Quotations this week? You bet.

649 UK active stores today, down 7 stores on last Saturday at 647.

Two up on last week, welcome back.

Why look at stores - they show members commitment to the site. They give a sort of indication about the trends of new Platinum sellers (who get free stores) and indicate that they have a specific types of goods that they want to be found more easily by the casual visitor to eBid. Surprised that even more people are not using this Platinum seller free tool. Perhaps we need even more people to commit to the site by launching a store when they become Platinum sellers.

UK listings today 3,913,392 Last week 3,955,963

USA listings today 3,333,970 Last week 3,367,739

Canada listings today 2,884,993 Last week 2,924,169

Germany listings today 2,909,140 Last week 2,948,704

France listings today 2,900,295 Last week 2,939,937

Every nation shows a FALL in listings this week.

Please note, there will be duplicated figures as one seller may list the same item in a number of countries

I think the significant fall this week is due to just a few people activly talking the site down in the forum, especally with some people having unrealistic expectations from what a 'simple' older format site can bring.

Yes there are newer sites, some of which are actually owned by eBay, but they exercise significant profit taking and control over the sellers and do not offer such a wide range of selling opportunities to sell as eBid

I have found that there are NO PROBLEMS SELLING things here IF you have the right stuff that is near unique, practical, you do not indulge a race to the bottom on pricing, have a clearly set out listing with any T's & C's very clearly identified and is not cheap chinese stuff that you can find on eBay. You don't need a million photographs, that confuses buyers, just a very good description and adquite pictures to show what is for sale and all of the defects. If somebody is interested they will ask for further information, you could even encourage this in your description.

Remember, sometimes less is actully more!

I have absolutly NO PROBLEMS SELLING HERE, apart from the occasional difficult buyer, hence the T's and C's.

    Ho hum

    Nore mine, either.

Thought I might add some keywords into the store's metatag boxes. Some from the list and some from todays news. I bet 'Reeves' and 'Budget' are riding high at the moment, so I may well include those, with the hope that google search picks them up - anything for a sale.
