I'm starting to wonder is this site good for just selling postcards and stamps ?... as no one on here seems to want to buy anything else !

I've been here for months now and not a dickybird !

Starting to think it's more of an "old boys club" than a marketplace... Sorry eBid but only one sale in 9 weeks is not really working well for me... I was hoping it would have been better than this.... Where's all the buyers ?... do they not buy other stuff other than postcards and stamps ??? *confused*

Just catching up on the messages.

Sid yeah you nailed the position I am in and said it in a much better way… I am half tempted to send certain stamps in to Royal Mail’s swap out scheme for new barcoded replacements. With those, I will give them one chance at selling first as I have seen on here that they can do fairly well, I just need to find time to list them.

Other albums of old stamps are being auctioned elsewhere at the moment with no success. I will find another way of getting them to a collector even if it is giving them away for free if needed to someone who will appreciate them.

Hi Bittyboy, I remember you from the other forum. All I can really say is I use as many platforms and ways of selling as possible, trial and error and dedicate the most time to the places that generate the sales. I will be listing in different categories here soon, if I get sales great, if not I’ll move the items elsewhere and just keep experimenting.

    I hope not

Hopefully it'll be down to being summer and lots of folk on holiday...lack of cash....or maybe that's just copium.

At least you've had a sale!

    Hi SCcoins,

Yes I remember you too !

Sadly I'm not having much luck on here

Just seems that they are no buyers on here for old re-conditioned locks ?...... or no one on here doing up their Victorian houses and needing the odd door mortice lock !

On eBay, it was bad but I still used to get the odd few sales every now and again, here it's completely dead !... almost like being buried alive !

Shouldn't be that bad now that lots of new folk are flocking from eBay and coming to sell stuff on here...

I'm always telling myself "it'll pick up soon once more and more unhappy sellers move from eBay to here"... but the weeks are just rolling by and nothing at all, no interest or any sales...

So I'm starting to feel frustrated ! and confused wondering what's going on ? and how are other sellers managing to sell other stuff on here ? (other than postcards, books and stamps) What's the secret ? !!!

I pray you're right !... as I honestly wasn't expecting it to be this dead on here now that this place is the obvious choice for unhappy sellers leaving eBay and looking for another sensible place to sell on !

Yes, I had 1 sale in early May 2025... and that was only because I posted on here for the first time and other members knew I existed !... before that, there was no sales for me either !... and I started selling on here in early March 2025 even though I first joined this site in 2006 ! lol

If you are selling anything other than stamps and postcards, or old books or coins, Please tell us what it is you're selling on here ? and how well is your stuff is selling on eBid ??

I sell hard to find old antique locks in good order and I'm not having much luck getting anything to sell on here... despite being a seller here since March 2025 and selling my stuff at a variety of different items and different prices. I was on eBay for 18 years and did very well there with many sales until they started changing everything recently

Any info and help appreciated as I really like eBid (when stuff sells ! ) but cannot work out how to get buyers over to my listings as this site does not seem to advertise anywhere and Google Shopping don't show many sellers from here either which is a great shame.

Just looking at recent solds on the homepage I can see eye drops. Earlier I had a look and saw a pet food sale so it definitely seems as if it is possible to sell outside the stamp / postcard categories.

I have tried to encourage some buyers of first day covers to come here by putting a note in with my parcels, but who knows if anyone decide to have a look. Searching by seller name has to be done by going to maybe they did and someone else benefitted from a sale.

I can’t remember what item it was now but I did a google lens search on an item last week and one of the results was an eBid listing.

*I can’t edit my posts. I meant to say searching for a seller has to be done by going eBid stores section and not a normal search. If anyone has tried to find me maybe they couldn’t find how to and gave up.

Thanks SC for the hints and tips.

I have nothing against eBid or the people on here who sell postcards and stamps.

I am just noticing (by reading these threads) that a lot of people selling postcards, books and stamps seem to be getting a steady flow of regular sales on here and doing well.

Unfortunately I don't have a ton of old stamps or books to sell, only a few old locks which are considered "niche items" and only sought after by a limited few buyers who are into this stuff or have a use for niche items.

So I am wondering how many more sellers are like me on here selling unique niche items and what are their sales like (if any ?)... as I am now struggling to understand how to make any sales on here and how to get buyers online to find my niche items here in eBid ?
