I got an email saying there was a question, I clicked on the link in the email, which took me to the question within the listing (very tactful question, haha!) and gave my reply, which I guess will give you an email. It took me to a page with:
Q&A Details Saved and Sent by Email To Other Party

An email has been sent to tonnesofstuff informing them of your input. You'll be emailed if/when they reply. You can also keep track of all the Q&A that you need to respond to via the "My eBid > My eBid Dashboard > Q&A Summary" page.

Our conversation is on https://www.ebid.net/uk/for-sale/977...-230594624.htm and I imagine is visible to other visitors.

I feel it's a pity that's the only way of messaging sellers, unless they also happen to use the forums. For some questions it's nice to have it available, can usefully clarify some aspect of an item. But when I see a listing that would benefit from some change, on the other side, time permitting, I might message the seller quietly. Doing it publicly on this site is potentially embarrassing for the seller, not helpful.

I'll go and send you a question...

Fake question sent. Don't get your hopes up! Pleased to be seeing you selling an Asimov book, greatest sci-fi author of all time, but I already have the whole of the Foundation series. I rarely reread a book, but there's so much in that series I've read it at least twice. As a teenager I used our local library a lot, took out every book I could find on clock repairing and sci-fi. Another great sci fi author I discovered was H G Wells, read lots of his and was so disappointed when I read History of Mr Polly. Not sci fi at all! How dare he!
Now questions about an item are public, other users will see them in the Q&A section on the listing details screen.

Questions between a buyer & seller after a sale of the item are private and appear in the top of the listing section as the ASL history. If a user or guest stumbles across the sold listing they will not see those questions and answers and they do not appear in the Q&A tab of the sold listing details.

This time I just purchased the jigsaw, although she always sends a thank you message letting you know when she is posting your order. In the past I've answered questions she has sent me regarding postage. Looking at the jokesaws you sent the question about nothing is showing up in the Q&A.

Exactly. I've asked twice now. Once yesterday and once today. Neither have registered in my Q&A section.

I've sent her a message via the ASL letting her know that you were asking questions. Hopefully, she will either come to the forum or get in touch with you as I gave her your user name.

Hi tonnesofstuff, and thank you leadhillsonline for contacting me, because I hadn't seen this thread. I just requested another ebidder to ask a question on the jokesaws and all worked fine. I received an email, it registered in my Q&A section and it shows on the listing - looks like gremlins are at work I've sent you a forum private message.

Thank you, I appreciate it but it is disheartening that it had to come to that as it is only by chance that you spotted the thread the thread and happened to be buying something from her.

Thank you. I doubted it would be that but I just checked in case and everything seemed to be fine there. I doubted it could have been that as johnwash kindly offered to ask a question on one of my items to see if it worked and vice versa I did too on on of his listings and it all went back and forth fine, questions sent, received and answered.
