Thank you. I have wondered how mine looks as I have been doing everything on a mobile phone. For now my store photos etc are just placeholders, I’ll have a proper look at that on desktop at some point.

It does seem as though anyone new to it like me wanting their stores to be aesthetically perfect and linear have to compromise at first.

I’m having a few days break from it as I’ve got other platforms to manage, I’ll dip back in and try to list more here and there.

For some reason I don’t get email notifications of this thread so if I don’t reply it’s just that I haven’t seen it.

I have the opposite problem - I use a PC and 22inch widescreen to compose and view all my listings and never really check how they look on a mobile phone - guess I'm too scared in case they're a total mess...!

"Funny thing here is . . . I am in the country and the rule of thumb here in Wisconsin that the corn fields should be : knee high by the Fourth of July. The corn is almost 5 feet tall and it's only July 1st."

Same here. One area that's very sheltered we have blackberries that look ready to pick. Normally we'd reckon late August or September.

"The bunny had an early breakfast."

Not big enough for the pot yet!

But I think your cats will have it first. All you'll find in the kitchen is a few scraps of fur and the gall bladder! I'm sure you're used to it.

Not yet. I’m still scheduling listings I’m only at 300 or so, hopefully as I add better items and start to get seen, that will change.

Hi everyone. I recently joined and haven't sold a thing yet. I've often read that it's a numbers game, i.e. once you get into the hundreds of listings however it doesn't completely make sense apart from that perhaps providing more probability of someone finding something they want that you have. However, I think the fundamental problem isn't the number of items one has, as you could have five unique hard-to-find items, but if the traffic and visibility are not there then 5 or 500 doesn't make any difference. Here's hoping that somehow things change.

I’m new here and still learning - but without a following of buyers it seems as though paying a featured or front page listing fee on selected listings to get seen is needed.

I read your second sentence and, for me, the second half directly contradicts the first half! And I do agree with the 2nd half, the more variety you have in your listings, the more chance that you're selling something someone wants.

I had a look at your listings and took the first one, Pursuit of Happiness, sci fi book. I put that and the author into DuckDuckGo and into Google. Found a number of them, but not an ebid one, which is disappointing. Maybe someone else can advise you on how to get more visibility, I'm trying to figure that out myself. Your photos and description are exemplary, a buyer should have no surprise when getting this book, which, let's be honest, is in pretty ratty condition. I'd be buying it to read, not to be a gem in a collection. But that's fair enough. You'd be asking a lot more if it were a first edition in mint condition!

Keep listing more every day, don't give up.

@tonnesofstuff i’m guessing it is difficult to get a google result with books that don’t have a barcode. Do they still have an ISBN noted inside? Maybe you can still add that into the item specifics and it may help.

I suspect you're right, makes it more difficult. ISBNs didn't start being used until around 1970. but that book is rather older. I think you can put EXEMPT in that field.

The listing has disappeared? Made a sale???
