    Default I am not human

Couldn't login to my site today on Windows 11Pro because the Prove that you are human continually failed.
Tried again on Chrome, and it worked.
Any ideas what I have to fix in Windows 11?

I've just had trouble logging on for exactly the same reason, took me eight tries to get in, also on Windows 11

I run a free PC clinic for local pensioners. The number of problems with Win 10 and 11, it's appalling. Not to mention the privacy implications.

And why did 11 even appear? When 10 came out, MS announced this would be the last version of Windows ever and everything in future would be rolling releases upgrading 10. But no. Some bright spark decided it was time to move the deckchairs around on the Titanic.

Just install Linux. Ubuntu Linux or Linux Mint, either are good, easy to install and really not very different from using Windows. Not as big a change as moving, say, from 7 to 8 to 10 to 11.

There are companies that sell computers with Linux pre-installed. More cost effective, get that old pc from the attic, blow the dust off, and install Linux on that. It was dog slow when you gave up on that pc, but Linux is more efficient, so it probably runs pretty respectably.

Need help installing? Go to www.lug.org.uk and find a user group near you. They're usually delighted to welcome new members and help.

I bought a high spec win 11 computer for video & photographic editing, intending to replace the win 7 PC; or rather I didn't

I am now running both in parallel. Win 7 for day to day stuff, except paypal as that occasionallty rejects 7; and 11 for video, because the software will not work on 7.

Why is 'everything' on AI even when it does not need to be.

    Why is 11 so s l o w.

To me 11's a pile of rubbish, style over substance, no logical progression to find things and a real pain to access minor changes to operational use.

Outlook - 2003 & Office still better combination than the latest offering for 11. The 11 version of outlook is so bad I downladed a 2003 version on Win 11 - and it works !

Biggest problem is that things dont come back as I left them when I put the PC on 'sleep' and it decides to open quite random programmes on waking up - GMS !!!

So I am typing this on Win 7 / Office 2003; still the best thing the MS have brought out for PC's

Oh yes, the reason for the post - no trouble logging in on Win 7

Its more than likely a problem with Firefox than Windows, I have had problems on various sites, but after trying again with Chrome it works perfectly

I use Firefox on Linux. As with many other applications, Firefox runs on all 3 main platforms, Windows, Mac and Linux. But I also have Chromium installed, for those occasions when somewhere like *bay has borked their site and not checked an update thoroughly before release. I could install Chrome, but I prefer Chromium, which is Chrome with the evil bits stripped out.

Windows 7 was pretty good, but it's out of support, so you're more vulnerable to exploits.

Outlook, where do I begin? Outlook Express or Outlook Exchange or Outlook Live or 365 or what? The branding people need to be loaded into the 'B' ark where they belong and fired off planet. And sorting out problems on whatever it is can be a nightmare. If you don't like the web mail that your mail provider probably offers, just use something sane, like Thunderbird. Thunderbird is yet another example that runs on all 3 main platforms, is free, open source.

Why pay for Office, when LibreOffice is fine for most users. Runs on all 3, is free, is open source. Are you seeing a pattern here yet?

Want all the power of the full Photoshop? Gimp. Runs ... etc, same pattern.

    The list is endless.
