I was reading the obay boards last night and Ebid is getting a few mentions, all positive. One new seller was saying that they've got bids on some of their auctions. Something I've never achieved!

Just looked at the Sold Stripe again. As always some stamps and postcards, but also model trains, electronics and even circuit diagrams for truck engines.

Still got my fingers crossed that someone will arrive and boost the number of items in vintage glass and add to the variety of what's for sale here.

Yeh I read that comment too.
When I first started on here I had items that had both the "Auction" and "Buy-it-Now" option, the "Buy-It-Now" price being more than the "Auction" starting price. Would get bids on the "Auction", but it would only be one person, and thus only ever one bid before it sold.
So I hoped the person actually has at least one item with multiple bids, rather than multiple items with only one bid.

Even over there it's years since I've had multiple bids on an auction. I gave up with 99p starts and started auctions at a price I thought was fair and wouldn't be too disappointing for me. And allowed offers. Offers on auctions are amusing. Sometimes a tyre kicking chancer comes along and makes an offer of a quarter of your price! Great way to get himself in my blocked bidders list!

Then when the auction ended with no bids I'd switch to BIN. People no longer seem to like hanging around, they want things immediately.

Happy to hear what's happening in the forums over there. I'm on a 30 day ban there, so I'm in the dark! I have the impression that SD isn't going well for them and there's back pedalling on making it mandatory?

Hi all. I recognise a few of these usernames from the obay forum. You may recognise mine too. Got the platinum membership for here and am going to try it out.
Do any of you know if parsley from the obay forum posts here too?
I'll be bringing Warhammer models mainly, possibly some books and dvd/Blu-ray/UHD if I decide I don't want something anymore too.

Just trying to work things out so if you have any pointers they would be appreciated. I still haven't found how to create a new listing. Seen bulk editing and importing options but I'm not doing that as obay can throw the rulebook at you for that now. So new photos/words are my current plan.

EBID is nothing but window shoppers and dreamers ,,, I have been here for years and sold 11 items ,,,, its a dead dead dead site ,,, you will do better on Facebook market place, Craigslist, home yard sales etc etc ,,,, + even if you have high in demand desirable items EBID is a LIMP penis that cannot erect ,,,,I thought EBID would easily outdo EBAY but people are pretty dumb and it is crystal clear obvious ,,if people were smart EBID would have been built up by now and eBay would be non existent which would be just great Jim dandy ,, Edead.net would be a much MUCH better name for this sorry excuse of a site

But you only sell to the US and to be fair you have a LP 'Andrew Lloyd Webber THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA w / Booklet' for a massive $100 which you can buy on eBay uk for £12, but you would never sell it at half that price it as nobody wants this sort of stuff any longer and there are millions of them.

If you want to make sales, list things you can't by elsewhere and follow your leaders advice 'Make Deals'. If you don't list near unique items, which do sell quite sucessfully, you don't 'hold the cards, in fact you don't have any cards'.

Absolutely agree. There are numbers of sellers here who think the way to do it is to list at outrageous prices and hope a complete mug comes along. It wouldn't work at a car boot sale, I very much doubt it works here either.

@Calicotoys, you have 11 feedback, so why so sour?

I just came back to ebid after 26 years on the other one, the world's largest online auction and market place, second only to ebid hopefully soon .
I actually joined the other one under a different nickname after few months when it launched (around 1996), it was full of bugs, slow and I mean sometimes you can fry an egg and make a cuppa before the page loads (it was not the dial-up connection's fault either). Cut the story short, most of sellers strugled to sell except if you sold collectables and the odd light floppy disk with some game or similar, had to be cheap and ok to post from the US (it only had the US dot com site) and like it is now for ebid, people didn't have much faith. What made it was us, the private buyers/sellers, most as hobbyists and collectors....slowly took off as it attracted more and more members. So why they made it into global brand yet ebid which is atually older than eb--uk site is still under a rock? please discuss!
