All of the tariffs and cancellation of tariffs in America have left me very confused.


The current state of play appears to be that China have 100% tariffs on everything, the rest of the world have 10% on everything apart from Russia and North Koria which have Zero tarriffs on everything, is this correct?


Are cars, steel and aluminiumum (pronounced Al-You-Min-E-Um) excluded from this tariff system and remain at their old (a couple of weeks ago) tarriff rate?

Are products made from steel and aluminium included in the tariff restrictions?

Are Model Cars included in the restrictions - may sound silly but those over zelous border guards may think differently

Can a Chinese importer of Chinese goods in a 10% tariff country sell to the USA and so get around the full Tariff restrictions for goods imported directly from China?


I am sure you can answer all of these questions.

I am sure you can answer all of these questions.

There are still higher tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada as well. Meanwhile us being decent to the yanks has resulted in us getting no benefit whatsoever - over to Starmer and the accounts secretary - LOL. Nightmare if you want to sell overseas - thankfully I stopped a couple of years ago - unless someone desperately want something.

The whole issue of tariffs is somewhat laced with theory and counter theory.
I think the stock market losing then soaring will make trillions - for some, sadly not me! Still more plummets and soars to come methinks!

I personally understand why Trump wants to bring Industry home - it's something we should have done years ago! Instead we allow overseas countries to purchase not only our companies, but our utilities including water - hence Thames water are actually part owned by the Chinese, - here we are told to be wary of the Chinese LOL.
The Germans put in protectionism in place to protect its industry from overseas buyouts. Meanwhile all we do is plan how to build more and more houses - usually on floodplains or sandpits and then wonder why...
Industry and proper jobs for youngsters is what wanted and as for net zero - don't start me on that one...

I think below a certain value you won't need to worry about tariffs. So sending a few model cars to Americans probably won't be a problem. Might be popular too, perhaps soon be the only kind of cars the average MAGA voter will be able to afford!

But I'm not an expert.

Trump won't have bought/sold himself, of course. That would be illegal. But family/friends??? Will the SEC have the guts to investigate?

Somebody please explain, is there now a specific tariff on mobile phones being sent to the USA or not?

If so does this include collectable mobile phones?

Does this inclde tablets?

Does this include computers?
