Having read a bit on the forum I thought I would put up a bulletin with a philatelic bias and what from me ends up on eBid.
Recent society meetings I attended had various subjects and whilst I was not the speaker or displaying material, It gave me an opportunity to review my own. Hence I have been listing in Countries T, U, V & Z. Burma, India, Denmark, Norway, Palestine, British South Africa Company – Rhodesia Double Heads, Cape of Good Hope – Triangular.
There are some good postmarks amongst the listings, and indeed some of the early postmarks only took a very short while to sell.
The latest meeting covered British Forces in Egypt, very interesting, but alas I do not have any material.
On eBid, in the forums; offered help, observations, provided solutions and workarounds.
Sales are down about 60% in this period compared to each of the previous two years sales (same periods), but this downward trend seems to be affecting the collectors market. Although postcards seem to be bucking this trend. (Source: My Society Stamp Fair & Exhibition event held in February that was well attended) .
We will wait and see if the collapse/exodus of private sellers & buyers from that other site makes any impact here on eBid. or regarding stamps, the forthcoming British International Stamp Exhibition, BIRMINGHAM 2025, that I have been recently invited to attend in early May.
Meanwhile if you are after items and do not see any listings please ask and I can check, because I just cannot list everything, just not enough time for a hobbyist collector.
