    Default Maximise your eBid Stores

A thing that sellers do not do to increase their selling profile is maximise the use of free eBid stores

You can have up to FIVE free stores on eBid

The number of stores on the site has hovered at 600 +/- 20 for years. The more stores you have the more likly that the site will at least look busy

It is no big deal to add a store and designate some of your goods into that store. The hardest part of adding a store is finding a picture that is 16:9 for your logo, which must be present.

A store gives you a second bite at an identity hit on Google and Firefox, you could get a hit on your selling name and also on your store name

For example the elench could have stores that seperate English and contental glass, coloured glass and clear glass. and still have a store left over. Stamp sellers could seperate by location / continent or by date again the same with coin sellers.

Whatever you have, and if you have a free store facility that you are not maximising, see how you can seperate what you sell into different stores.

Remember what you are selling is still all in the same listing profile, a store just adds another way of splitting your goods so people can find things they are looking for.

A bonus is that within that store you can add your own catagories for what you ar selling and you can add sub-catagories to those, and as many as you care to add, . . . . and they can be anything, not just those within the eBid catagory restrictions.

I am sure most people could add more than one store for what they sell.

Bear in mind that you may get multiple bids from people browsing one store, but they rarely take a look at your other stores

BUT . . . if you add a link(s) to your store(s), near the top of the selling page descriptions, rather than at the bottom of the selling page and put a very brief and tempting description of the store, say 10 words?? And, if the customer likes what you have put on the page they have looked at, there is a better chance that they look at your stores than if none of that was there; none of which does any harm and may increase sales, especially if you have a comprehensive catagories system.

Of course if they buy by catagory and they have hit one of your stores that has the catagory they are interested in, they may go no further. But, then again they may look further, and buy. Must be worth the small effort involved?

I got busy this week and did exactly as you suggested. I added all of my store links, at the top of every listing.

I don't take much notice of Stores and can't remember the last time I looked at the Stores page. Do you look at it often?

The reason I ask as I notice it has "Browse 609 Ebid stores" as the Header. I can't remember if you were involved in a discussion about the "Browse x,xxx, xxx items on Ebid" box on the Home Page and how the figures given made no sense at all, some were minus numbers and I doubt whether the total given was at all accurate.

I'm not saying that 609 is wrong, or that there hasn't been a decrease, but I think that any number given on ebid should be looked on with caution and over some time. How often does the number up-date? Does it seem logical? Does it move in apparently regular cycles, as the Browse Box does?

Reading the boards over the past few weeks / months there has been a string of "Welcome to Ebid" and "Welcome back" messages and threads and I'm just wondering why shop numbers should go down and I tend to doubt the accuracy of any ebid figures until I've looked at them for a while to see how they move over time.

Measuring the number of active stores is a useful measure of the number of serious sellers on the site, or at least the ones that have enough to sell that they can put the items in the sellers own catagories in the store. I have been keeping an eye on some catagories for a couple of years. You can see the number of stores at the top left of the stores page https://www.ebid.net/uk/store-directory/ The number is dynamic and changes from day to day, with a one day lag on changes.

My guess is the reductions may be about seller re-organisation or redirection. Unfortunaly there is nothing to say which stores have gone off-line

"Back on topic we don't know if registered and online is the same thing."

Quite correct, read 'active' stores rather than 'regestered' which in reality 'active' is all that we should be interested in.
