    Default Dog ornaments

Hoping one of you antiques folk will be able to identify these 2 Dog ornaments as I have no clue about them.
They are both stamped with 598 on the base, and are both hollow.
I am assuming they are dogs, although I initially thought they were cats (but I was wrong)

    Those are CATS ( His s s s s ss )

They actually look like homemade from molds.
My mom did a lot of pouring of ceramics and porcelain and the molds would have those numbers.
I know they are not Holland's molds, but there were so many mold makers. I thought of Alberta's, but ? ? ? ?

I did initially think they were cats, but all cats i've looked up online (in my attempt to identify these had whiskers).
So thank you for clearing up that part for me, now just to get anymore info I can

You helped. I think I found them. They are a mold called "Ross" on a website called "fatcatceramicbisque".
    They are supplied unpainted.

    Congratulations!

I thought they look more like "home made" ceramics.

I know at the time that my mom had her mini studio, plus she worked at a ceramic place that specialized in making limited porcelain dolls, that Alberta, Atlantic, Duncan and Holland were the biggest mold makers. Then there were the smaller guys like Clay Magic, Sciot, Donna, Macky and Ross and many more. If any of my mom's items make it to the UK, you will see engraved on the bottom IJAJ or IJAJ's Knook and Kranny. Yes, she hand wrote that in the greenware before firing the items.
