    Default Another non-paying buyer ?

It looks like I've got another NPB -- that makes two in the last couple of months and three this year. More than I've had in all the previous years of selling on Ebid.

Is this just a run of bad luck or are others seeing more NPB's this year in general and the last three months in particular?

There is a really simple answer to this one, don't maximise the profit only sell as 'Buy It Now', they can't buy unless they pay.

Now if you can solve the bigger problem of putting an incorrect address in the eBid registration, or leaving an old address in paypal then that really would be an achievement.

Not sure I understand, all my sales and NPB buyer sales are BIN on RUS listings. I only run the auctions to liven-up the results pages as they move up and end, I've never sold anything at auction.

Which is why I let them run for 40 days, no-one ever bids on them.

If you only sell on Buy It Now, as I do and you use paypal, for example, then the buyer will be directed to the payments page at paypal at the point of purchase.

If a buyer does not complete the paypal purchase page there is no sale. The buyer cannot, or at least certanly should not, be able to buy on a Buy It Now without payment. Paypal will provide a payment reference number to ebid and that appears in the sales log.

Either there is a defect in the eBid purchase system, or you are selling in a way that does not require immedite payment to complete a purchase.

Suggest review of purchase payments methods to ensure that a purchase cannot be completed without a payment being made

So far my only post purchase problems have been buyers having incorrect or incomplete addresses, or addresses mismatched to their paypal address and that needs further communication before sending to establish the correct address. Experience as shown so far that they get both wrong in approximatly equal measure.

As no-one else has replied to my question I'll take that as my answer.

Thanks for your interest and interesting replies.

In reply to your question, I don't recall ever having a buyer register an incomplete address although many of my buyers are making their first purchase on ebid. So can't really help with that.

I have had several buyers that have forgotten that they moved house since they last used paypal, which then gave me their old address. The only solution I've found is to check the PP address against their registered ebid address before posting. I'ts usually the ebid one that's correct.

I get non paying buyers rarely from the UK.
They are usually overseas who bid without realising the extraordinarily high costs of shipping overseas and do not pay when they see the disproportionate cost of postage.
Not a problem as Ebid refund fees when I log as NPB

Neither do I -- usually. Only 2 in 10 years, but then 3 this year. I don't think it's my postage as I don't sell overseas and even round down my UK postage to either 50p or £1 below RM's current price. i.e current RM price is £3.75, I charge buyer £3.50.

I've just asked ebid to "Refund FVF" again (sigh), which they've done. But I would rather have sold the vase and paid my dues.

Why do they do it?? Most of my buyers are making their first purchase on Ebid, go to all the trouble of registering, only to buy something and disappear, then delete their account. What a waste of time!

Many years ago, I had a person had 7 items in their cart.

I questioned them if they need a combine shipping cost.
    Didn't answer my question.

I think they thought it was just put it in your shopping cart and you didn't have to finish the sale - almost like putting it on your wish list but they are using the shopping cart.
And . . . we don't have the "normal" shopping cart like other sites where we can take items out of the cart if we didn't want them.

Maybe this might be the problem ? ? ?
