Afternoon all, thought I'd better pop my head in, been a bit busy in the real world but I'm still around... Even found some time to do a bit of touring around North Yorkshire in my new jalopy made for a nice little break.

Nice car.....not a clue what it is, but it's a nice shape and color. I'm not a car person, to be fair.....just want one that's comfortable and reliable and not expensive.

Moonie - I also am clueless how support here works, but it sounds like it really doesn't.

And American biscuits and gravy are awesome. British biscuits and gravy, not so much. Cookies are cookies, homemade or not. Homemade are better, naturally.
    Ta-Ta for now!

Same here, just want a comfortable set of wheels that will get me from a to b in comfort,,,, So far, this one seems to fit the bill. For the more mechanically minded, it a J type Vauxhall Astra Tourer...

I can't help but laugh when I saw your post.
It reminds me of the morning I was at the laundromat and I saw a car very much like this one.
    All nice and shiny.
I went to look at it and wondered why it was at the laundromat.
The owner saw me and I asked if the car was theirs.
Then I asked if it was the newer version of the funeral cars. Whooops ! !

That's what this vehicle reminds me of.
There are 2 other types of vehicles here in the USA that remind me of cars in the early wars, especially when they are in the color of green or dark tan that the army would use.

I have been spending a lot of time down at the farm working on cleaning up the barn.

I have been laying new plywood floor in one of the stalls so that I can start setting it up for a barn sale.

A friend stopped by and was able to help me move a heavy, upright propane/kerosene stove out of another stall.
That stall I have to repair the hole in the floor that the stove made, then place plywood over the floor.

We finally got some rain and now the colder temperatures are starting.

Still have to finish cutting down the last garden. Managed to get half of it cut down.

Had a sale the other day.

A HEARSE!!! No, it's far too small to be a funeral car, Officially called a compact sports tourer (though I don't know where they get the sports idea from - 0-60mph in about 7 hours if you're lucky! Comfortable for four people and a decent amount of luggage, so far it suits us as there's only the two of us and as we're getting on a bit now and don't travel too fast anymore...

Too small and yet you can get 4 people and luggage in it. ? ?

Make sure you are not "dead" tired when driving around.

That seems like a favorite model around here along with another "sportier" style one.
Fridays and Saturdays, during the summer, you will see all the old Stingrays, Avanti's and such.
Gus's Custard Stand has where everyone brings in there old vehicles to "show off".

Just got home from grocery shopping and it was crazy.

Everyone was driving their shopping carts on the wrong side of the aisle.
I started to ask if they were from the UK or just got home from England.
A few times I came close to having a head on cart collision. ( I don't think my insurance will cover this )
Maybe this is what happens on a Sunday grocery shopping day ? ? ?

No, won't be from the UK, we don't have any supermarket trolley rules over here, anything goes.... Helps improve your driving skills to avoid some of the idiots on the road
