Hey books, some bostin' choons there!
I loved the Rainbow one, Myrna Lea reminded me of such happy days we spent in 'out of the way' little country bars when we lived in Florida. I actually prefer Terry Stafford's version of Suspicion.
Glad you are keeping busy with your veggie patch - we are now planting all the salad stuff needed for the summer months, plus curly Kale and plenty more veggies - just hope that pests like wooly aphids, greenfly, blackfly and caterpillars don't ruin our crops. We have given up trying to grow sweetcorn, for some reason they become snided with earwigs when you open up the outer leaves, this year we shall have to buy them from the supermarket or farmers market.
BTW, how is your son doing? Any new projects at the centre?
Aww moonie, bless your Billy for thinking about you and providing for your wishes - he sure was a lovely bloke.
I think it's disgusting that you have to pay for a driver to get you to medical checkups and appointments - round here an ambulance regularly turns up to take our elderly/disabled neighbours to hospital.
I think a lot depends on where you live, our NHS care here is absolutely wonderful but my poor daughter who lives in St. Columb Cornwall has only nightmareish tales to tell of their unbelievably poor NHS care.
I had to pay privately to get my daughters leg (vein troubles) seeing to before it was too late and needed amputation, she just could not get any care at all. Even the specialist said it was a good job that she received treatment as it was so badly infected. My sister lost both her legs through similar complaint.

We have patient transport in Eastbourne for hospital visits but nothing for GP appointments.
I am goning to be at the GP practice clinics for more than an hour and I need someone with me due to me being neurodiverce and not doing the 'talk to several medical staff I don't know' thin
There is a company called "Driving Miss Daisy" that has franchises, with one here in Eastbourne. Basically, I could be dropped off by taxi and just left to get on with it, or I pay this local driver, who will stay with me for the whole visit and take notes/ask questions and help me with making reminder nots for updates and phone calls I might need to make. The driver will then take me home and make sure I am OK before leaving.
I choose to do this because I wouldn't get this level of support through patient travel or an ambulance picking me up and dropping off.

Here's a quickie for you - a great version of one of my favourite songs - Blackberry Way
I asked my question because at some time in the past I had the audacity to post on this thread without providing a link to some music. I was told in no uncertain terms that this was not appropriate on this thread and that there was a thread for general posts.
Hi Tony41,it's not always needed to post a music track, some of us here have been connecting with each other for many years. You are always welcome to take part. Also requests can be put to me any time and I will do my best to find the track.
Mandart, that 2011 version of Blackberry Way sounds like it was remastered by Geoff Lynne, I know he was part of the Move anyway though this version sounds very ELO in the orchestration. Also interesting to see it was on the Fly record lable that had previously disappeared.

It was a pure Roy Wood remastering of the song, relations between him and Jeff have been somewhat strained for quite a few years. I was surprised to see it on the Fly label as well
Hi everyone,
checking in to see if you are all being good .... or norty (which is far more fun!).
I've had a lovely happy and relaxing day today - no melts to make and we have spent all afternoon in the garden with Lucia and her little ones.
We had a picnic lunch on the back lawn, the sun was shining and the sky was blue ... but ... that fresh NE wind still plagues us.
When will it blow up from South?
Ole JR has finally packed in his job at RBL, he only worked there Thursday eve and Sunday lunch so it's no big deal.
He will miss all his buddies there, but he couldn't carry on any longer due to his arthritic ankles and lameness.
He couldn't manage the steps to the cellar to change barrels.
He is keeping busy sowing salad/vegetable seeds for summer/autumn - his radishes are looking rosy and plump ....
Hope you soon get help with your house move moonie, you will feel a lot more at home in Gosport. Fingers crossed for you x
PS: Great choice of music mandart, really enjoyed this rendering of Blackberry Way.
Books, how is your son doing at the centre - would love to know how the gardening projects are doing.
