I use windows live movie maker.I don't add music ..Until it's on youtube in the editor ..they have plenty of royalty free tunes, you Can pick from thousands and use a search term to find the music ..
Pick neutral music ...don’t pick anything with a Rave beat...well don’t pick anything with a beat to it . ..or people will switch it off.
Note: if you do add your own music, you will get a warning from you tube if it’s not aloud ..and they will take the sound off the video
Best use wide pictures
Remember to fill out the tags section in the editor on youtube - you have 500 characters
Link to here ...and link here to youtube.
Careful with item title ..As that get the views from people who are searching.
Also don't upload adverts for top branded fashion items or try to sell media on there ...dvds / music ..or they may be taken down or worse .

Excellent, thank you.
Yes, thanks from me as well.
Something I'll look into over the winter when I'm stuck indoors with little to do.
Anyone who's tried to photograph glass will know that sometimes it's just impossible to get a picture that does it justice. No matter what I try it can sometimes look flat and un-interesting. I think my camera will take video, when I work out how to do it and if I can find one of those revolving craft wheel thingies.
Holding the camera still and slowly revolving the item might show it far better than several still shots.

BTW sometimes you can use mirrors to make stuff look nice - attached some pics from past items

Great ideas thanks. I do struggle with the camera settings that control lighting for stills so mirrors would be an intersting route.
All great ideas thank you.
I will need to get back into making videos again, finding the time is a problem right now.

Oh my
Yes the mirrors do a good job of lighting it all around
and you get beautiful back drops, all unique, if you point it at the sky.
That ratchet BTW had hundreds of watchers and views and made twice the amount of any ones else's ratchet at the time.
So yes pictures and gimmicks work well
