Hi.
I'm new to this site and wondered if it's possible to see if/when anyone is watching an item?
My items have been viewed but I haven't noticed any information about watchers anywhere.
Thank you.

Hi! I've never noticed that feature here....don't think it exists....

I know you can watch items, so it would make sense for the seller to see which items are being watched. I'm sure someone asked this a week or so back as I'd been looking for the option but can't find anything - any experts out there?
How do you use the information that watched items provide?
It's just that although it's an interesting feature, like the 'add to list', favouriting & keeping items in a shopping cart I've often wondered about their true value as few of my watchers ever seemed to go on to buy.
Well, if your item has a massive amount of watchers in a short period of time, you know you have something people are interested in. you know you've got the key words right ..particularly if there are other items the same by other sellers who have same price BUT low watch count.
It helps you gauge your stuff, what's no good , what's good, for future lists
Also putting watch count there, lets buyers know that:
1. They better buy it now or someone else will get it
2. In an auction ..gives them an idea of the interest ...and if they want to win it ..they better be prepared for other bidders ..so bid high.
When doing research on your item you're listing or going to list , watch count will let you know the best key words to use. the best price to set
But really you want to analyze both view count and watch count combined on a sold item. to make sense of it
This is something i could do on a site called picclick until Obay forced them to stop showing completed and sold listings about 18 months ago.

Thanks everyone. It would have been helpful to have that facility - even if it were just to see that someone liked an item enough to watch it!
A watch facility here would be more useful than OBEY as this site has the option of dropping prices for as little as a few hours - ideal way to gauge how serious these watchers are!
I often watch an item because I have something similar to sell - so I can decide whether it is worth the effort.
