Thread: Cocktails!!! and Music

    Default Re: Cocktails!!! and Music

    Hi everyone,
Finally got myself some 'me' time!
Sales for soy wax melts have declined - I guess it's because folk are now getting outdoors a lot more due to better weather and the easing of lockdown restrictions.
I have been for my abdominal scan today, strange that my haemotolgy doc asked for this - she sent me for a chest X-ray last week?? I'm already being cared for by a chest consultant - hope both consultants compare notes otherwise I shall be glowing in the dark with all the scans/X-rays!

I'm so looking forward to meeting up with all my kids/grandkids when allowed, so miss our family barbeques and the singing/dancing 'shows' that the little ones perform for us! I'm feeling elated today - must be the warm sunshine and optimism for the future (helped on with a couple of stiff bevvies!)

Shes, loved your informative account and pics of the tornado aftermath. Oh my, you guys sure are made of sturdy stuff - 4 days without electric ... YIKES! Panic sets in here if the lights go out for an hour or two!
Not heard anything yet about the last X-Ray - no news is good news so they say!

Penni, thanks for the great choons - how's your Acer doing? Ours is rallying around sitting comfortably in the greenhouse for now. Our 5' banana palm is also rallying around and has sprouted a new (huge!) leaf, Lemon tree is looking sad after the severe frosts this winter. Think we have lost the night scented Jasmine though.

Wyo, how's the moggy doing? All done with shots and snip? Must say what a very beauiful and comfy bed he has to lie on!

Books, how are you? It's time to give us a few choons to listen to!

Everyone, keep safe, be happy and lang may yer lum reek ...

Trish hope all is well with the scans and that you can soon meet up with your family and have a right good knees up!

He's not doing too bad. Sadie thinks he is her kitty, she is personally supervising his outside time and trying to herd him along every time she wants outside. That is Sadie's bed he is on in the picture. Yes, he is nearly finished with his Vet adventure. May 6 I have to take him back for a feline leukemia booster. I think perhaps he may have tried to play with a toy I bought him, but no one was in the room at the time. I ordered some cat deterrent to spray the furniture. I have catnip to spray on the cat tree. I have decided to name him Phineas T. Spots (Spots for short).

I have made 3 dish cloths this week and he thinks my thread is very interesting.

The third one I just finished last night and haven't taken a picture yet. I finished a pair of pot holders and made a couple of quilt blocks for a pillow top perhaps.

I am not completely proficient with pictures on the new computer. There is a new puppy next door - Border Collie, Pit Bull, Great Pyrenees cross. Looks like a Chocolate Lab. Groan. At least it's a female.

Thanks Penni, that's what everyone says but I made 3 for myself and I've been using them for 3-4 years and they hold up nicely. I have a dishwasher, so their use is mainly wiping up the counter etc. but they have done well.

The last one of 4 I had ideas for color. Gave the set to my new neighbor and buddy. She loved them.

We had a near insurrection today. Mr. Spots found "Fuzzy" and was playing with it - twice. Sadie rushed to enforce discipline. Fortunately Spots noticed the toy I got for him and became interested in it.

Weather has been nice here the last 2 days. Today is a tad warmer. Tuesday we got a good bit of rain so everybody should be in a good mood for a bit.

    Hello cocktailers!
My oh my, I didn't realise it was so long since I posted on here - time seems to be flying by.

Books, thanks for the choons, lol!! That "Weird Al" Yankovic - Eat It made me chuckle! You sure do have a great knowledge of mucic.
Not heard anything about the scans, my haemotology consultant is phoning me on Tuesday, so I expect to hear then how things are.
I have been for 2 more venesections since I last posted, both with disatrous results. No way could they get anywhere near 450 mL of blood, even though they tried both arms in 2 different veins. I was black and blue and could hardly lift my arms for days. I'm refusing any more of this medieval blood letting and using me as a pin cushion .. !

Wyo, I agree with Penni regarding your amazing dishcloths. They are works of art! Love the colours in the quilt blocks, exquisitely sewn together.
How are Mr Spots and Sadie getting along? Hope Spots doesn't annoy Sadie too much swiping her toys!
What a lovely photo of your folks, indeed a handsome couple.

Weatherwise I think our weather is appalling for this time of the year it's supposed to be Spring isn't it? We are again forecast for very strong winds gusting to mid 50's mph. If any more of the polycarbonate panels blow off the greenhouse roof I shall be furious. We have replaced them so many times we could have bought a brand new greenhouse.
Also, I'm worried about my big banana palm which is too big now to be kept under cover will have all it's new enormous leaves shredded.

On a brighter note ..... yippee! Next Saturday we are having a Richardson reunion! The first time we have all been together since lockdown. Cannot wait to see all my kids and grandkids! We are planning for a barby, so I just hope that the weather will be kind for us!

Well, since we are now allowed to congregate, I'm declaring the cocktail lounge bar fully open!
