OK ! Noticed we have a few people started selling PPE i.e. face masks sanitizer etc. Some of these seem to be BIN at 200% RRP. I know this as I am an ex-nurse who has been looking at replacing my P3 filter just in case. An example would be https://www.ebid.net/uk/for-sale/503...-190976067.htm which in non pandemic times retails for £100. Even sellers on that other site have had to start letting buyers bid up to this level rather than BIN due to their rule change on price gouging. If people see eBid as a price gouging site it could seriously affect its reputation. It could potentially lead to eBid being reported to the CMA .
Ebay [sorry for swearing] have now added price gouging as a reportable offence, due to issues surrounding this - is this something that eBid should also consider??
I know the only ones that can answer are Gazza & team, but feel free to comment everyone who has an opinion.
Just FYI I am not against idiots bidding an item up to stupid prices - but I am against the damage caused by sellers manipulating the market whether they be OPEC or individuals
