I agree with that, on another forum I visit (I think they use the same software, but not sure). They have a pop-up if the thread you are trying to post on has been dormant for something like 2 or 3 months, warning you of that and asking if you still want to post. It doesn't stop threads from being brought back from the dead, but it does cut down on it.

Personally I can't see any harm in resurrecting old threads, providing the resurrection is on-topic (and providing idiots like me don't look back at much earlier posts and stick their oar in!).
Post #5 is a good example. It was nearly a year after #4, but it was entirely relevant, an update on Annie's situation, and it would have been daft to have the system block her from posting that.
