I have five coins like this - different designs - Looks like Japanese but there is nothing I can google and I don't know what they are.
They are large - nearly 4cm diameter and silver coloured - I would really appreciate any information anyone has.

Hi Madelaine, is there anything on the reverse side? My grandfather was in the far east many years ago and I remember him having some tokens, given as change in shops. There would be writing on the back, an advert and value.
Another suggestion, could they be "good luck" charms like our Saint Christophers? A Japanese person I know carries one he bought at a shrine in his home town. His has a prayer on the back with the head of the shrines founder on the front. Unlike our St. Christophers they're usually carried in a bag rather than round the neck.

Thank you for the suggestions - I think they are just that - good luck charms of little monetary value - I asked on a specialist discussion board and the fact that they are magnetic makes them almost certainly modern copies.
