    Default End Of Year Reporting

    Hi All,

Great site, been using it for years.

One complaint I have had, as our sales info disappears after only 3 months, I still would like to be able to run an end of year report for listing all sales details for the past year. (Hopefully as a CSV or Tab delimited download, similar to our current export feature, but for a full year block) Unless there is a way that I don't know about, can we please get this process made available to us? If not, any good reason why not???

Thanks and a Happy and Healthy 2017 to all,
    Stan...

    Nice idea.
But don't you keep a record of all your sales seperately? I know I do, and I do it on a spreadsheet for a year with monthly tabs.

That's what I do too, Jason.

A spreadsheet that includes the sale price + shipping less fees and postage. If I buy any stationery items then I record the amount and deduct from profit. No need for me to have a set of books, but I do keep a record of sales and expenses.

I also have a spreadsheet set up for my listings and keep track of the numbers of new and unsold (to be relisted). That way I know right away if anything looks fishy in the number of listings that I'm running. I've caught myself editing an existing instead of listing similar item and overwriting the original in error.

I would welcome an archive facility, even though I keep a spreadsheet.

The problem for me is that I forget to download a sales log at regular intervals.

How about an auto button for sending me a monthly sales report without me having to remember to ask?

Hi Jason, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I track my individual sales, but it sounds like you do manual entry for each sale. I sell on two other outside sites plus my own site, in addition to this site, and usually just have to run a report at years end to accomplish this. ebid is the only one of all four that I have to jury rig an answer to do so. I then combine all reports into one master. I just like to automate as much as possible versus manual entry. Thanks again for your thoughts, Stan...

I don't know if everyone is aware (I only discovered it recently - but then I haven't been selling for a goodly time) but there is now a blue export button on the My Fees & Invoices page [http://www.ebid.net/uk/perl/account....ccount-balance]. This allows the downloading of data for a selected period. It might be useful in achieving your aims.

I did request this feature years ago. It looks like things come to those who wait.

    Hi Bill,

Yes, I know what you mean. I could do what I am looking for by going to the "Items I've Sold" page and running an export there, but you are limited to a three month period. But like you, I usually do not remember to do this every three months. If they could expand on this export and give us a customizable time range (longer than a three month block) for running a report then that is all I ask for.

As far as asking for them to send you a report every month, I don't think that they would want to get involved in a process that would involve them doing all the work, but if they gave us expanded tools to work with, we could do it ourselves whenever we need to, or remember to do it.

Thanks for your input. Everyone looks at things differently and different views and ideas always help.

    Hi Astral,

Thank you for your response. I had looked at the export you mention, but the cover page just went from one month to one month and I did not explore it further to see that you could expand it beyond just one month.

I can get my bare bones basic info from this like you said (THANKS) but it is very limited on details. Even the description column is truncated from the original title info. If we could just combine the customizable date range feature that this export report has, with the export report that is available on the "Items I've Sold" page this would answer my, billstamps, and others needs, perfectly I believe.

I was also thinking that perhaps our sold items are shifted over to an archival database versus being kept in the current sales database, and this would be an impediment to the thought I just mentioned in my previous paragraph. If so, then just give us a date customizable export report on the archival database. I don't have a problem in running two reports to get all the info over the extended date range I need.

Again, thank you for your thoughts and for pointing out this other export report.

    Stan...
