So sorry to hear about the "Baked Orchids" I hope they are recovering.
I actually bought the 2 I have for starting seeds indoors before spring to keep the cats from digging in the dirt. They didn't look sturdy enough to stand up to any spring wind/rain storms that we might get here.
We have been having lots of rain and I think I finally figured out the "prediction system". I picked a day when the hourly precipitation was not predicted to be above 7% to burn all the debris from cleaning up the woods - what I ended up getting was about 7 minutes of rain EVERY hour! Not a bad deal though - didn't rain hard enough to put out the fire and the short shower every hour cooled and refreshed me - LOL!!
The days it hasn't rained, it has been so humid that the grass doesn't dry enough to mow until afternoon so it was so thick when I finally got to mow that it choked the mower down several times. NO rain predicted yesterday but the 3 times I got me gear together to go out and work, it started pouring!
And of course, it seems if it's raining within 50 miles of here I have no internet service, as it blocks the satellite signal so I haven't been getting much done inside or out.
We were supposed to have rain off and on all day today but I decided I HAD to go pull weeds - between rains if necessary - so I got up early to get started. It was overcast and a slight breeze was blowing - perfect , but I got interrupted by the chickens going crazy in the coops and got sidetracked from the weeding to remove another snake from the coops!! 4th one in 3 weeks! Grr...... Since then, the sun has been shining and it's too stinkin' hot to be out there any more. What IS up with this crazy weather? I'm off to take a nap.....
