Update on funds for Autism East Midlands

Hi everyone, here is a picture of the raised beds that the service users at The Sherwood Centre have built (with help from staff) They are really sturdy and made from large sleepers. They have had a slight mishap with the poly-tunnel (wind damage) so will wait for repairs before posting a picture.They will be filling the raised beds with compost later. The ground is covered in lots of stone chippings so they cannot dig it to make a garden, so the idea of raised beds makes up for this and also makes it easier for some of the less able service users.

So you can see where some of the money we have raised has gone to. Still in line is the sensory garden which will be to the left of the raised beds.

Raised beds are a wonderful idea ...it will be easier for them to see which ones THEY planted themselves
- and they can see their seedlings and plants grow much easier in a confined space
