Poppies without leaves - people remember them
Poppies with leaves either pointed to 11 or not - people remember them.
The worst thing is when 18/21 year olds have no idea what the poppy commemorates - as I found out in my local store 5 days ago. I'm obviously getting old because, if I had children I would ensure they knew the Poppies significance, especially at this time of year.

Quite right Gill.
My children are all well informed about the significance of the poppy.
Parents, grandparents and great grandparents should be only too willing to educate their family and youngsters - sadly, looks like this isn't the case any more.
Never heard of this before.
Here's a bit of Poppy history.

I once had to explain it to a German (in German, which was a challenge). When we lived in Lippstadt, on Remembrance Sunday we used the local parish church because nowhere else was big enough and a gentleman asked me what was going on as I was walking in before the service.
