What are your actual jobs, then?
Anybody trying to make a living at this, or are you all just hobbyists?
I think your "nice, positive, cheerful thread" is rude.to ebid.
(but very slightly, don't panic, i've said worse)
Or am i killing yer buzz?

OK, I've always believed that "Americans don't get irony" was insulting - now I know, that, in this case at least, it is true!
I've been here a while - I'm a hobbyist and a charity fund raiser - When I first joined eBid nothing sold except in YDC. Now I sell more than 60 items per month. I've sold £50 worth over the weekend. This is, of course, nothing if I wanted to earn my living but I don't. However, this does not mean I can't post. Actually I hardly do these days. The repetitive nature of the boards ("why don't eBid run their business the way I want?") has mostly driven me away.
I'm off to bang my head against a brick wall as it is more fun than this.

They'd probably not be insulted and would only ask if it's a flat irony or a steam irony.
"Then what would happen if everyone chose the free listing option?"
They wouldn't get many sales, so they'd give up being such cheapskates and switch to using the gallery option. 2%, paid on results, rather than up front just to list, is a fee I'm perfectly happy with and I'd imagine most are.
