Well, it's been a few weeks ..... so i'll post an update!
Chemo is finished for now ..... 4 cycles have achieved an 80% reduction in the primary tumour ... so the docs have decided that the risks now outweigh having any more "poison".
I'm moving on to radiotherapy now ( they said I wouldn't be having any when I was first diagnosed?) and have spent the day in the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle, having a mask made (no wise cracks please). I'm going to have my brain zapped, even though I haven't got any brain tumours. Chest and other bits too .... but it's all still "buying time".
CT scan on Friday 29th .... followed by treatments every day for 2 weeks.
I've seen a few folk with radiation burns today .... and it don't half look sore!
I will admit that as late as yesterday, I was 99% decided to call it a day and stop any more treatment ... it's got me absolutely wrecked! (Doc has talked me out of it today)
Life is all quiet on the house front ... oldest grandaughter is staying with an old school friend for a few days, middle grandaughter is horse riding, grandson is playing golf and daughter is working in our shop.
My Aunt is back in hospital ..... with a broken shoulder (another fall) and a UTI. Of course i'm still not allowed to go in for another couple of weeks until my white blood cell count has recovered.
Laters!
