Thread: accepting credit card payments

  1. #1

    Default accepting credit card payments

    Hello,

I always use PayPal to accept payment, but I'm not sure if I trust them all that much since the are so close to feebay.

What do I need in order to accept credit card payments here on Ebids?

Does Ebids process the transaction or do I need to have a third party similar to PayPal?

    Thanks for any help

You do need a third party. But Most sellers use Pay Pal, I don,t see your problem. it is secure & as far as I am aware have Pay Pal Broken away from EByay.

I understand your concerns. Ebid has its own system - PPPay...and Skrill may be used as well. Look at the top right of this page and find "Help". Go there and find the FAQ's section and you will find the "how to" in the list...here's a shortcut if you'd like a quick view:

Another place you'll find a lot of info is the "eBid Knowledge Base"....

This is maintained by Astral whom you will find in these forums...knows lots about how this works

    Oh! Welcome to eBid!!

I stopped using PayPal (and eBay) after eBay purchased/acquired them. eBay continues to make a mint off those who are unaware. eBay charges you a listing fee when your item sells, then a final purchase fee based upon their sliding scale of the sale price, then PayPal charges you a fee for processing the entire payment (based on the price and shipping fees). I couldn't see contributing to eBay's triple fee collection on items sold. I presently use Squareup (squareup.com) to process my credit card transactions. The fees are much less. When I sell an item, I create an invoice on my Squareup account. I then include the payment link in the eBid invoice and send it to my customers. Once payment is made, you are sent an email and must log into Squareup to accept the payment and finalize the sale. Squareup will usually deposit the money in your account (minus their fee) within 2-3 days. They also offer a mobile credit card reader for free that you can used to process credit card purchases via cell phones, tables, etc. I hope this helps and good luck with your business...

May be useful to eBid members in USA, Canada and Japan. They don't operate anywhere else, apparently.
