A species of bee is invading our shores and its having a devastating effect on the honey bee population. As if the honey bee didn't have enough problems already from pesticides, fungicides and modern farming practices.
The new bee can easily be spotted due to its size, it is larger than a honey bee, somewhere in between the honey bee and bumble bee.
This bee is thought to have originated in the United States, where domestic honey bees have been completely wiped out in huge areas. Farmers from both sides of the Atlantic are worried, honey bees are an essential part of nature. The rogue bee is a scavenger, it steals honey from the domestic honey bee, killing any defender that stands in its way.
There are signs that the killer bee is appearing in other countries in large numbers. It is a very serious threat to all wildlife. Scientists are baffled how this bee is spreading so fast into so many countries. The main theory is that the rogue bee is arriving via portals commonly built into electronic devices. A leading technician at the research institute responsible for this frightening report, believes these ports should be blocked to stop the spread. Use what ever is to hand: chewing gum, or blu tack work best. The spokesman added: "I just hope we are not too late, our entire food production system is on the verge of collapse!"
