Also never knew that Rick Springfield had been in bands before his solo stuff.

Went on a vinyl hunt at the weekend, I had the weekend off work, so me & Ben my son went trawling charity shops. Found a few interesting bits and pieces.

LP by the band Fancy who had a minor hit with a cover of the troggs "Wild thing" Not the best version but remember playing the single in my DJ days. Also had this version .

Also picked up a signed LP by Harvey Andrews "PG" that features the legendary Trevor Burton one of the UK's most underrated guitarists. Here are a couple of tracks from the album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEOQKqSeq8o

G'day books, & all. I grew up with all those trax I listed & many more besides.
Must say, I prefer the originals the best. Have never heard of Fancy (interesting) did that version of Wild Thing come with an "R" rating??? To coin a phrase "I want what she's having" The Goodies always make me laugh!
BTW, your last 2 links won't open for me, but I'll see if I can track them down in any case.
Spectrum were from NZ & came to Oz in the 60's. Mike Rudd & Bill Putt are known as Australia's hardest working musios & Mike still works the southern states. Unfortunately Bill passed away in 2013.
" I'll Be Gone" remains the quintessential "Hippy" anthem.

BTW - Here's Mike live on an Oz TV show a few years back!

Guess I'm odd then, as I love football, (or American football, as they say on the other side of the pond), watch all the pro and college games. I blame my Dad, who used to play and coach when he was in the service, he got me hooked when I was a young un, I enjoy it more than any of my exes ever did. Funny, I'm not much for other sports, (baseball, basketball, golf, etc. all leave me cold), I think it's the childhood memories that make football such fun for me, unless my teams are losing, then not so much.

I hope Wyo is faring OK weather-wise, or at least better than we are here in NC. Class got cancelled yet again, the same thing happened last Tuesday due to bad weather, I'm starting to think we're jinxed, LOL. I only hope I don't forget everything I've learned by the time next Tuesday rolls around.

    Cheers,

We got about 4 inches of snow Saturday and Sunday and they are saying 50% chance of snow tomorrow. The rest of the week doesn't look too cheery, but not so much snow. Our wettest month is March and most of it is snowfall. They say the bears at Yellowstone are coming out of their caves because it has been so warm up there and my pals that work in Yellowstone have confirmed that. It's probably 400 miles from here to Yellowstone National Park. Catty corner across Wyoming. A little sliver of it is in Montana. My friends' children go to school in Montana and tardiness is forgiven if the bus has to stop for wildlife. The wildlife is not to be disturbed, so if they are in the road, you stop and wait.

Went to Cheyenne today, hopefully the apartment will be done by March 1. I was just searching for a web site where I could post my story re the contractors who left the job unfinished, but Angie's List requires membership and I didn't find anything by searching for contractors. Any ideas as to what else I could search for? Some days I just love computers, not. My former contractor had mentioned to me there was a site similar to Angie's List, but local and I can't find it.

Saw some of Rooter's guys today, I stopped to see Rooter's brother and they were there. One of them adopted Rooter's Dog, Moe. He's a little black dust mop type dog. Mike is his name. He is getting some work from Rooter's former clients. I got his phone number for the next time I need something.

I had one of the visors from a car in my shed. The put them on the outside in the 30's and 40's. The man who is working on my apartment has a Studebaker truck he is restoring and has been looking for one, so I took mine up to him. He was a happy camper.

I took one of those quizzes on Facebook - it was how much of a Tomboy are you? I got I think 70%, I can't find it out now to check.

Wow, Wyo, you are getting the snow! It's a little surprising here in NC, especially this time of year, though NY used to get snow sometimes even in March and April, so not a big surprise to me, if some of the locals may be a little disconcerted.

That's funny about the bears, and I don't scare easily myself, if I have to admit a bear once scared the crud out of me. I was going to school in northern PA (in the mountains) and one night I left the music building close to midnight and was walking down the path toward the dorms when I heard this awful noise. I turned and looked and about 100 yards away, in the parking lot of the music building where the dumpsters were, I saw a huge bear. It raised up on its hind legs and roared and it was much taller than me. I ran as fast as I could down the hill and into the dorm, screaming at the top of my lungs.

I thought I was seeing things, but the next day a park ranger friend told me there were black bears and grizzlies in the mountains and they were probably scouring the dumpsters in search of food. I saw the dumpsters the next day and they were toppled over and the heavy chains that bound them to the cement loading dock were broken! I swore then and there I'd never walk that path late at night again and I never did. Deer I can handle and even raccoons, but not a bear, not unless it's in a zoo.

Tomboy, I used to be one I think, as I always preferred D&D with the guys to girl stuff, though I was probably more of a nerd than a tomboy as I was never athletic, just geeky, still am.

    Cheers,

Old,the songs were "Songs that harry wrote" & "Cheeky young lad" so you might find them by typing in the titles if the links won't work.

Oh no no no nooo, I love American Football! Big Bears fan (since visiting Soldier Field back in 2007). Watch every game that's on TV over here and going to the Jets - Dolphins match at Wembley in October!

Football here, as in "soccer", is the boring one lol
