    Default Outlook email help please...

    My work email is bt.com, last year BT did some major updates and forced me to change my password (that I'd been very happy with and was easy for me to remember) to a complicated password that had to have at least one capital letter, number and symbol. I was very annoyed at this and used a swear word in the password. I'm the main person who uses the email, anyway, I'm still having difficulty remembering it, so this evening I changed it to a password I can remember and will be more suitable if I'm asked for the password.

    Now I have this problem...I have a Windows phone that receives emails via Outlook.com the message after I had changed my BT passwords states
    Your password for @btinternet.com has been changed. Remember to update this in any computer email software, like Microsoft Outlook, or mobile email software you're using.

    I've logged into my outlook email account and cannot remember or figure out how to change my BT password there...

    Can anyone advise please

    Click on File >> Account Settings >> highlight the email address you want to change
    click the little change icon and box will open
    change the password under Logon Information.

    Test email received immediately in the BT account, not in Outlook or on phone after 30 mins. Come to think of it, I've not been receiving BT emails on phone since the updating so maybe there's something else needs changing that I'm missing. It wasn't just an update, BT email used to be part of Yahoo (I think) and it's not anymore. I'll shut up now before I confuse everyone and go do some digging in BT account.

    ETA: Test email finally arrived in Outlook folder.

    ETA again: finally arrived on my phone.

    All working as it should, though slowly...

    I am still BT yahoo emily and they are a darn nuisance, i keep getting messages to go to login yahoo dot com to verify my password almost everyday.

    I don't recall being given the choice. I was doing invoices and needed to get into the hall's email to send them, it was really frustrating, I was shouting and swearing and throwing things like you wouldn't believe (LOL) it would not accept the password and kept telling me I had to have a new password to access the new btinternet email, I just did whatever I had to do to get into the bleep email account.

    I preferred it when it was yahoo, but then I was used to using it. In BT without scrolling all I can view is the last 6 emails received, there's probably a setting to change that but I'm not very technical so I haven't found it, well I haven't even looked for it.

    I am not very technical either and have had emails saying they are changing to just BT emails but most of them have been from fake sites, anyway they haven't changed me yet, maybe this is why I have to keep logging in on yahoo to be able to assess my emails, maybe they haven't changed me over as yet, I was on BT emails when i first joined them and wasn't happy about yahoo pushing their beak in at some point way back when. I am as wise as you are .
